4 CO-EFFICIENT OF TRANSMISSION (U-VALUE) FOR ROOF, WALL, DOOR
PARTITION AND FLOOR:
The resistance values are taken from ASHRAE Fundamentals 1997 table # 1, 4 ,
unless other wise mentioned.

5 INTERNAL LOAD DATA:
Internal loads involve components of cooling loads which arises from sources internal to the
conditioned space. The following components shall be dealt with in the proceeding items :
5.1 LIGHTING :
The details of the lighting loads in each room is taken from actual lighting load calculation.
The Summary of lighting load is enclosed for reference.
Formula
Qs = 3.41 x qw x Fu x Fs x CLF
Where :
Qs = Sensible cooling load in BTU/Hr.
CLF = 1, Since lights will be turned on more than 16 Hrs. per day.
6 of 68
5.3 EQUIPMENT HEAT GAIN :
The heat gain are due to the heat dissipated by equipment's inside the building.
The actual load dissipation from the each panel is taken from the each equipment
manufacturer & as summarized by the Electrical Engineer.

7.2.4 Assumptions:
In this design, for the purpose of analysis, following assumptions are made:
Design Static pressure inside the conditioned space to be positive relative to atmosphere.
As per SES-K-100 & SES-P-119.43, the required pressure inside the conditioned space
shall be maintained at 0.2 inches of w.g.
Surface pressure relative to the static pressure is equivalent to the static pressure acting
on the building wall. I.e. P0=Pv = 0.0995 in of W.G

Qp = 3910 CFM
Note: As per SES-K-100, Sec.-10, minimum of 10% of supply air required for fresh
air make up. From air balancing table enclosed, required make up is greater
than the Qp indicated above.

HVAC SYSTEM SEQUENCE OF OPERATION :
CHANGEOVER SWITCH
PACU-1 will be the duty unit, whereas PACU-2 will be the standby unit. When
PACU-1 fails to operate, PACU-2 will be switched on automatically and vice-versa.
Corresponding motorized volume dampers will open for the unit in operation while
close in the "failed" or standby unit.
7- D S CHANGEOVER
A 7 days timer will alternate the running of duty unit and standby unit every 7 days.
If the running unit fails, the change over switch shall automatically run the standby
unit and vice-versa.
SMOKE DETECTION
Presence of smoke will be detected by duct mounted smoke detector to shutdown
the HVAC system and close the combination of motorized fire and smoke
damper(s) (MF/SD-1 & MF/SD-2). A time delay will be provided so that MF/SD-1 &
MF/SD-2 will be fully opened before the HVAC system is restarted with the unit
selector switch.
COOLING
The main controller will energize the lead compressor (Compr. No. 1) when the
room temperature is above the set point. The second compressor (Compr. No. 2)
will be energized as well when further cooling is required. BOTH Compressors will
run until the set point of the main controller is achieved.
HEATING
When the room temperature is below the set point of the main controller, this
controller will send signal to the 2-stage controller to energize the electric duct
heater in 1 or 2 stages as required until the desired room temperature is achieved.
DEHUMIDIFICATION
Space air humidity conditions are measured by a duct mounted temperature /
humidity detector and the measured humidity values are transmitted to the DDC
(MEC) controller via analog module. The controller compares the actual values with
required humidity values (50%) and if the humidity is higher, the controller overrides
the temperature control process and operates the compressors to de-humidify the
air to maintain the set point (adjustable 0-100%). As selected on the local user
interface on the HVAC control panel. During dehumidifying process the controller
retains the control of the heater to maintain the room dry bulb conditions.
31 of 68
NO AIRFLOW and FAN BELT FAILURE
AFS-1 and AFS-2 shall have two functions, one is to shut-off the corresponding
electric heater in the event of no airflow. The other is to give only an indication light
on the HVAC control panel when there is fan belt failure then automatically the
standby unit shall take over. The indicating light should not lit when one PACU is
shut down for standby.
DIRTY FILTER
Differential pressure switches DPS will measure the pressure drop across the filter
and if the pressure differential setting is reached, a lamp will glow sending signal to
the HVAC control panel to indicate that the filters are dirty and require replacement
/ cleaning.
HI/LO PRESSURE
The high discharge and low suction pressure of the compressor will be monitored
through indicating lamps on the HVAC control panel.
ANTI-RECYCLE PROTECTION
A minimum of 10 minutes time delay shall project the compressor from restarting in
case of power failure. This shall be accomplished in two equal stages. The first one
shall be taken care by a 5-minute time delay relay installed in the HVAC control
panel in the event of power failure. The second one shall be activated by a built-in
5-minute time delay normal condition, the compressor shall always start from a 5-
minute time delay at the beginning of another cooling cycle.
