1. Introduction of the Company/Organization

An organization is a collection of people working together to achieve a common purpose It is a


unique purpose social phenomenon that enables its members to perform tasks far beyond the reach
of individual accomplishment (Barry Wright, 2013, p. 12). Every Organization have a
management structure that determines relationships between the different activities and the
members assigns the roles, responsibilities and authority to carry out certain tasks. Organization is
the arrangement of people, money, machine, tools and many other things to accomplish specific
tasks. Three characteristics that identify an organization are its:

 Goals
 People
 Structure

According to the demand of the project we have visited organization which is associated as IT
Company.

The company we went to visit was Aptech Company which is located at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur
district, Nepal. It is established in 2015 A.D. and affiliated with Council for Technical Education
and Vocational Training (CTEVT). It is establish with an intention to bring in variety of services
providing different special offers that encourage more to have their services. There are all together
around twenty permanent staffs in Aptech IT Company.

Aptech is committed to clients regarding any age group, individuals, organization or community
to provide various IT services, majority as website development, customized software, designing,
mobile application, animation, VFX, social media expertise, SEO’s, Branding plans and many
more. It is an organization that takes a great pleasure in work. They increase the quality of services
to attract the clients. Aptech Company has management level structure as in shown chart:

2. Identification of the vision, mission and objectives of Aptech Company

Any organization or company should possess their mission, vision and objectives to accomplish
tasks. When we visit Aptech Company, Board of Director (BOD) has implimenting the company’s
mission, vision and objectives as following to achieve the goal:

 Mission

Aptech Company is the one of the pioneers in the field of IT and vocational training services. It
has been on a mission since its establishment to provide professionally skill development education
and training to its valued clients regardless of any age group, individuals, organization, and
community. Its primary objective has always been on quality education and to develop skilled
professional for the development of education, business and services in Nepal.

 Vision

With passage of time, computer technology changing rapidly so this company has always
introduced the training program that comes hand in hand with real time scenarios, project based
learning, upgrade technologies and interactive learning sessions.

 Objective

When we try to learn about this company’s themes and objectives we get following had out comes:

 To provide quality of education on the basis of computer technology.


 To prepared skilled human resources in technical fields. To provide job oriented training.
 To minimize the problem of underdevelopment and unemployment by providing
technical education, so that produced human resources will be engaged in NGOS,
INGOS, local authorities and private sectors.
 To prepare graduate having professional leadership capacity.
 To produce skilled, competitive human resources that may possible to get job for the
foreign need also. To produce middle level technical human resources to assists the
development activities.

3. SWOT analysis for Aptech Company

SWOT analysis is an analysis of the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and


threats. SWOT analysis is done by formulating strategies, implementing strategies and evaluating
the results (Stephen P. Robbins, 2015, pp. 166-167). So strengths, weakness, opportunities and
threats of company are mention below:

 Strength: The Aptech company strength depends on the team and unity of staffs i.e. From
the top level to lower level management staffs. This company provides, high-level
customer services and to have a presence in multiple retail markets. The middle level
managers provide different kind of trainings events to the staff and there is health insurance
for staffs. It has sufficient space for library, multipurpose hall, classroom, and Information
Computer Technology (ICT) center and demonstration hall. In addition to these facilities,
it has a good strength for providing scholarship as per the rules and regulation of the
CTVET. It has a long term well experienced trainers and also have good lab support for
the practical and convenient time for the students. This company has ability to give really
good customer care and lead consultant as a good reputation in the market. Aptech changes
the direction quickly if they find that their marketing is not working and has strong
relationship with the employee and other stakeholders of the company.
 Weakness: Weakness of this company is sometime it lack the latest update in technology
system and unable to provide sufficient facilities to the client. They have limit staffs which
may cause the problem in performing multi tasks in needed.
 Opportunities: This Company mostly involves in the government training and they
provide different kinds of opportunities to the staff and their clients. Aptech staffs have
health insurance and other facilities. It provides facilities to work together with big
companies in big projects.
 Threat: Environment issues such as shortage and scarcity of materials and effects of
natural calamities, political instability, strike, blockade of the country.

4. Corporate strategies employed by the Aptech Company

A strategy is a comprehensive action plan that identifies the long-term direction for organization
and guides resource utilization to achieve sustainable competitive advantage (John R.
Schermerhorn, 2013, p. 195). Similarly, a corporate strategy is one that specifies what businesses
a company is in or wants to be in and what it wants to do with those businesses. It’s based on the
mission and goal of the organization and the roles that each business unit of the organization will
play (Stephen P. Robbins, 2015, p. 169). Some corporate strategies applied by Aptech Company
are listed below:

 Evaluate Resources

All about employee, money and time comes under the evaluation of resources. According to
Aptech Company’s mission, vision, objectives and size of it, Chief Executive Officer (COE) has
well managed all required resources like time, hierarchy and number of employees, length of task
as investment etc. They are more punctual and attention towards goal to perform it efficiently and
effectively. According to management level, they perform tasks in a given time.

 Communication

Aptech Company gives first priority to the communication which helps them to share their
company identity in society. Aptech Company executive team has established and communicates
its vision and strategy to employee and keep all levels moving in the same direction. This prevents
potential inconsistency in vision and helps companies deliver a common message to customer and
communities.

 Create Sustainable Goals

Aptech Company is clearly outlined goals and objectives for long term i.e. to provide vocational
training services and provide professional skills, services on information technology like graphic
designing, web development, mobile apps, software, programs etc. making an objective of
supporting any background of clients satisfied by their service. It has sufficient staffs to look
after customers or clients to provide services.

5. Implementation of the plan/strategies of Aptech IT Company

Planning is choosing a goal and developing a method or strategy to achieve that goal (Chuck
William, 2013, p. 113).Planning involves deciding exactly what you want to accomplish and
how the best to go about achieving it. There are a number of benefits to be derived from
managing strategically. For instance: to grow, change, for better efficiency of organization it is
necessary (Nicholson, 2006, pp. 10-13). Aptech IT Company applied different kind of
plan/strategies in order to achieve mission, vision and objectives. Firstly, they set the goals, build
up their commitment, develop effective action plans, schedule track progress to accomplish it.
The goal of Aptech Company is to provide vocational training services, provide professionally
skill development education and training to its valued clients regardless of any age group,
individuals, organization, and community. The process and steps of their plans are mention
below to meet their goal:

 Reach out the Stakeholders

Aptech suggest an informal chat between strategic planning team members and employees.
They take the written strategic plan documents back to the people and influence and discuss
it with them in a conversational manner. They set up a feedback mechanism – suggestion
box, one-on-one meeting, and monthly updates – so that they have a chance to respond as
well. This method of communicating the strategic plan facilitates employee "buy-in" and a
broader understanding of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.

 Measure progress in the strategic plan

Aptech Company measure how well strategic plan implementation is progressing through
key indicators such as the number of new customers. Aptech Company strategic planning
team decided what measurements are most applicable to long-term strategic objectives. If
they can't measure it, they can't manage it. So what things they should be measuring? Some
few ideas are given below:

o market share
o employee morale
o customer satisfaction

 Monitor the strategic plan

Finally, to keep their strategic plan alive, Aptech Company monitors it. Here are some
guidelines.

o Challenge underlying assumptions: While monitoring the strategic plan's


progress, Aptech Company continues to examine its underlying assumptions, the
continued validity of its strategic objectives and the influence of unanticipated
events.
o Conduct short-term strategy reviews: Aptech Company suggest scheduling team
"huddles" every ninety days to keep the strategic plan reviewed, reloaded and re-
energized. These huddles also allow them to distinguish those individuals who are
getting things done and those who are not (the "empty suits"). Alternatively, they
schedule sixty days strategy reviews by senior management. These are an
opportunity to take another look at the original plan, determine whether strategic
objectives are being meet and agree new action steps as necessary.
o Expand skills: In the weeks and months Aptech Company followed the strategic
planning process like: expand employees’ skills through training, recruitment to
include new competencies required by the strategic plan.
o Reward success: The Company analyzes in creative ways to motivate employees
and rewarded them for focusing on the mission, vision and strategy of company to
achieve a goal. They establish some consequences for achieving the company’s
stated strategy. These consequences may be functional or non-functional but they
role to make the strategy priority in employees’ mind.

6. Conclusion and Recommendation

When we observed the Aptech Company, we found that they have followed the planning and
strategies that requires in any organization to meet their mission, vision and objectives to achieve
their goal. As a result we observed that Aptech Company staffs are satisfied with the services,
opportunities given by the company. This Company has good policy for their staffs and provides
different training to staff and clients. Mostly Aptech Company involves in different government
sector for the development of their goal. Sometime they faced the problem of latest technology,
information, and they have a limited skilled staff which cannot lead them to move forward.

In order to improve their weakness Aptech Company has to up-to-date their technology system.
They have to hire more skilled staffs for their goal achievement so there will be more efficient and
effective work in Company.
