Lesson Plan

Introduction: ( 3 minutes) ***Have instructions on


● No welcome song today the board***
● Have spy music playing in the background
● Welcome grade 2/3s to Our Music Escape Room! ***Have ukuleles out
○ Has anyone ever been to an escape room before? and tuned***
● You have exactly 30 minutes to ESCAPE the Music room
● We will be split into 5 teams- as a team, you must work to solve
the clues that you will find around the room
● Each team will have a colour
● Each clue is a different shape- please only find the shape that
matches your teams colour- if you open another teams clue, then
your team is disqualified.
● Each clue is in an envelope- the clue will tell you exactly what
your team must do
● Unlike other escape rooms though- you have unlimited
questions- so if your team gets stuck on a clue- you may raise
your hand and either Ms Costello or myself will come to assist
you
● Once you are done one clue station- please make sure to reset it
so that it is exactly the way that you found it because there are
many other grade 2/3 classes that will be using these :)

Transition to Body:
● Split up kids into 5 teams- red, blue, orange, green and purple
● Give each team their very first clue
● Remind them that this clue will give them their first shape that
they must find

Expectation of Behaviour:
● Remind of my 5 rules and 3 strike policy
● I expect sound to be at level two on the dial
● There will be absolutely no running or screaming. Got it?

Body:

● So grade 2/3s- Next week you will be doing your performance
test. It will be on Wednesday and Thursday. I will tell you about it
