Summary:
Based on my findings, it is important to consider all the risks that can occur in terms of economic, social,
environmental and health as it every action has a consequence which could be positive or negative. The
approval to build the industrial zone near the art rocks was a mistake which caused numerous rock arts

MAIN IDEAS/FINDINGS:
Safety assurance is to ensure that all policies and assessments are
implemented and functioning as designed and to ensure risks are
mitigated as far as possible. Safety assessment on the other hand
refers to the analysis of all the risk in terms of health, safety and
environmental impact that occur with incidents or during operation
of facilities.
Based on the article, one of the hazards towards the rock art are the
mining industry. As they mine around the surrounding are they
inevitably damage the landscape and rock art present in the area as
they mine. Mining without the proper expertise could also result in
collapses which poses a health risk towards the people working in
them. Besides that, industrial pollution such gas and particulates
have significantly damaged the art work on the rocks (McDonald
2018). Furthermore, the presence of ammonia and fertilizer plants
could pose a risk of ammonia leaks or explosions (McDonald 2018).
One of the safety assurance that can be implemented is for the
government to implement a restricted area for heritage site to
prevent industries from building too close to the art rocks. Besides
that, the government should regulate what types of industries can
operate near the heritage as certain industry activities can be
damaging towards the art rocks (McDonald 2018).
The safety assessment that can be implemented is the risk matrix
which would analyse the industries present within the vicinity of the
rock art heritage sites and would be able to determine the
environmental and social impact.
The implication of the safety assurance ensures that all safety
precautions are enforced to prevent further damage to the rock arts.
It also serves method to ensure that the rock arts are persevered as
part of the heritage zone.
The implication of the safety assessment on the other hand helps the
government determine the cause and effect of the hazards present in
the industrial area. It serves as a tool to determine the likelihood and
severity of events that could potentially occur and how it would
affect the environment, social, economic and health of the people.
