One of the most beautiful locations we visited was Lake Ranau aka Danau Ranau located in the South

Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU)

region and West Lampung. This is the second largest volcanic lake in Sumatra, but it’s like no one has ever heard of it – most people
only know the more popular Lake Toba in North Sumatra which is the second largest volcanic lake and the deepest one in the world.
This lake is created by the blast of volcanic from Volcano Mountain that made a huge basin.
Around the lake overgrown with various shrub by local residents called Ranau. Then the lake was called Lake Ranau. The rest of the
volcano is now becomes Seminung Mountain that stands firmly on the edge of the clear water lake. On the other side at the foot of the
mountain Seminung there are hot springs on the bottom of the lake. Around the lake can also be found Subik waterfall. Another
interesting place to visit is Marisa Island. This lake is has hilly and valleys topography, then it makes the weather so cool and refreshing.
This famous lake is often visited by the fisherman to catch fishes like Tilapia, Kepor, Kepiat and Harongan.
Right in the middle of the lake there is Pulau Marisa or Marisa Island. And in the side of Mount Seminung, there is a hot spring that
oftenly used by locals or tourists who come to the island. The tourist can drive along the lakeside from Banding Agung to Pusri cottage
to enjoy the wonderful view of lake and Mount Seminung. There are several tourist attractions to enjoy at the lakeside road such as
swimming pool and the water park. The visitor also can jet skiing around the lake.

Salah satu lokasi terindah yang kami kunjungi adalah Danau Ranau alias Danau Ranau yang terletak di wilayah Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Selatan dan Lampung Barat. Ini adalah danau
vulkanik terbesar kedua di Sumatera, tetapi sepertinya tidak ada yang pernah mendengarnya - kebanyakan orang hanya tahu Danau Toba yang lebih populer di Sumatera Utara yang merupakan
danau vulkanik terbesar kedua dan yang terdalam di dunia.
Danau ini dibuat oleh semburan vulkanik dari Gunung Berapi yang membuat cekungan besar.
Di sekitar danau ditumbuhi berbagai semak oleh penduduk setempat bernama Ranau. Kemudian danau itu disebut Danau Ranau. Sisa gunung berapi itu sekarang menjadi Gunung Seminung
yang berdiri kokoh di tepi danau air jernih. Di sisi lain di kaki gunung Seminung ada mata air panas di dasar danau. Di sekitar danau juga dapat ditemukan air terjun Subik. Tempat lain yang
menarik untuk dikunjungi adalah Pulau Marisa. Danau ini memiliki topografi berbukit dan lembah, sehingga membuat cuaca jadi sejuk dan menyegarkan. Danau yang terkenal ini sering
dikunjungi oleh para nelayan untuk menangkap ikan seperti Tilapia, Kepor, Kepiat dan Harongan.
Tepat di tengah danau ada Pulau Marisa atau Pulau Marisa. Dan di sisi Gunung Seminung, ada mata air panas yang sering digunakan oleh penduduk setempat atau wisatawan yang datang ke
pulau itu. Wisatawan dapat berkendara di sepanjang tepi danau dari Banding Agung ke pondok Pusri untuk menikmati pemandangan danau dan Gunung Seminung yang indah. Ada beberapa
tempat wisata untuk dinikmati di jalan tepi danau seperti kolam renang dan taman air. Pengunjung juga dapat jet ski di sekitar danau.
