1. Background and Objective of Development

1.1 Background of Development


Analogue 824 lose the product competitiveness. Market request for 824 system are as follows.
- IP capability for Trunk and Extension
- Built-in Caller ID card to keep the price competitiveness
PSN will release a new IP hybrid type of small PBX in order to expand market share.

1.2 Product Concept


The main concept are Price Oriented, Easy Handling and follow the Market Trend.
Focus on most frequent use feature and realize “Easy Programing”, “ Easy Maintenance”, and “Easy Operation”.
Price competitiveness as Legacy and IP configuration.
1) All in one platform
All function is realized by main unit except legacy expansion
Built-in CID, DISA, AA/VM, Router and WiFi Wireless LAN-AP
2) Easy installation, programing and maintenance
Plug and Play for legacy and IP (HDV series) extension
WPS button for WiFi connection Automatic set up for Wi-Fi devices etc.

1.3 Product Outline


KX-HTS824/HTS32 is a brand new "Hybrid IP-PBX" platform.
The product outline is described below.
1) Expandability ( Maximum capacity is 8 trunk x 24 extension as system )
Legacy interface is possible to expand by option card.
No activation Key for SIP trunk and SIP Extension.

4.2 Call Control Function

4.2.1 Incoming call Features


Following table shows description of Incoming call related features.
Functions Description Remarks
Direct In Line (DIL) Provides automatic direction of an incoming trunk call to a
preprogrammed destination without DID/DDI number.
Each trunk has a destination for each time mode
(day/lunch/night).
DID/DDI Provides automatic direction of an incoming call with a
DID/DDI number to a preprogrammed destination. Each
DID/DDI number has a destination for each time mode
(day/lunch/night).
Group Call (Ring group) Each extension can be assigned ring group. When
incoming call to ring group, the extensions that are
assigned as the member are rung simultaneously or
sequentially.
DISA (Direct Inward System An outside caller can access specific PBX features as if

the incoming call to DISA assigned trunk.
DISA-AA (IVR) Automated Attendant(AA) at DISA is available. A caller
can call specified extension by a dial.

Distinctive Ringtone HTS provides different Ring Tone Pattern to distinguish
between CO incoming call and extension/Doorphone call.
Call Pickup When incoming call comes into any extension, user can
pick the call up from other extension.
Hands-free Answerback User can answer to an incoming call automatically.

4.2.2 Making call Features

Appendix A: DSP channel resource assignment <Renewal>
HTS824 has a hardware based DSP.
DSP is used for VoIP call and DTMF detection for Voice Mail / DISA features.

The maximum DSP cost is 14 in a HTS824.


The following table shows the DSP cost matrix which can know a cost for each communication pass between devices.
User can use to make conversation within total 14 costs.

Bandwidth notice for Video communication
Video commination bandwidth needs to be less than 512kbps, if Video communication is used at remote location.
All video phones, including video phones at local location, need to be configured properly, so as not to beyond 512kbps
