Synopsis

Purpose

This project is aimed at developing a web based and central recruitment process system for the
HR Group for a company. Some features of this system will be creating vacancies, storing
application data and interview process initiation, scheduling interviews, storing interview
results for the applicant and finally hiring of the applicant. Reports may be required to be
generated for the use of the HR group.

Scope:

This project ‘Online Career Guidance’ is an online website in which job seekers can register
themselves and then attend the exam. Based on the outcome of the exam the job seekers will
be shortlisted. For fresher, the exam will be conducted at some venue after shortlisting of the
preliminary aptitude test. The details of the examination, venue and date of the examination
will be made available to them through the website, online counseling interviews. Apart from

Major functionalities of the project:

Online Career Guidance is aimed at developing a web based and central career guidance
process system for people who want to search new career opportunities as well as for people
who are looking for a change. There are 3 modules:
 1. Admin Module
2. User Module
3. Visitor Module

System Overview:
Objective:

This project is aimed at developing a web-based and central career guidance process system for
a company.

Existing System:

Presently recruitment is done manually i.e. if a company or organization needs employees they
make an announcement through newspaper. People who are eligible send an application to the
organization or company. From these applications they are called for interviews o tests. After
tests, company has to do shortlisting manually. From these shortlisted candidates they are
called for the interviews and then they are employed later on. So, it’s all time consuming
procedure.

Problems of existing system:

1. People do not know all available career options.
2. These tasks are time consuming. It may take long time.
3. People do not find all information in a centralized position.

Need for proposed system:

Career guidance can help you in pursuing the right courses in the right colleges or institutes and
can guide you in choosing a suitable career. The right career advice can help you to choose a
career to suit your personality as well as your aspirations. Career counseling can guide you in
selecting the courses suitable for you. It could be an undergraduate course or associate
bachelors on various factors including convenience and requirements. For some careers a
bachelor’s degree will do but others may require a Masters or even a PhD.
