Migration is the movement of people from one place to another.

This can be within a

country or between countries. Migration can be permanent, temporary or seasonal.
Migration happens for a range of reasons. These can be economic, social, political or
environmental. Push and pull factors drive migration. Migration impacts both the place
left behind and on the place where migrants settle. These impacts can be both positive
and negative. There are also factors that can affect migration, and one of it is political
factor, this factor is Political instability caused by cultural diversity causes people of a certain cultural
affiliation to move within the country or away from their country altogether. As a result of wars or
ethnic strife, ethnic groups that were initially leaving apart can be forced within the same geographical
boundaries. An influx of one cultural group can displace another group. Governments can also force
cultural groups to move from one place to another (within or outside the country) to gain political
advantage in having less cultural diversity. Also economic factor is primary reason in migration,
Economic factors relate to the labour standards of a country, its unemployment situation and the overall
health of its economy. If economic conditions are not favourable and appear to be at risk of declining
further, a greater number of individuals will probably emigrate to one with a better economy. Often this
will result in people moving from rural to urban areas while remaining within the confines of their state
borders. As the low- and middle-income countries of today continue to develop and the high-income
countries experience slower economic growth, migration from the former could decline.

Also in culture, it can have a big impact in migration, because

Culture encompasses the set of beliefs, moral values, traditions, language, and laws (or rules of
behavior) held in common by a nation, a community, or other defined group of people. Culturally
determined characteristics include: the language spoken at home; religious observances; customs
(including marriage customs that often accompany religious and other beliefs); acceptable gender roles
and occupations; dietary practices; intellectual, artistic, and leisure-time pursuits; and other aspects of
behavior. In the United States, and in other nations with large immigrant populations, there is a wide
range of cultural diversity, religious beliefs, customs, and values, reflecting the scattered origins of the
people. The "melting-pot" concept of nationality reduces this diversity with successive generations, but
considerable variation remains—distinguishing rural from urban, African American from European, East
Asian from South Asian, religious believers from secularists. And also socio-political factor, Social push
factors can include ethnic, religious, racial, and cultural persecution. Warfare, or the threat of conflict, is
also a major push factor. In the Australian context, most asylum seekers arriving by boat in the last
decade have come from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Sri Lanka. All of these countries, apart from Iran,
have undergone extremely destabilising conflicts in recent years. On the other hand, while it is free of
violent conflict, Iran has one of the worst human rights records in the world leading many of its citizens
to seek asylum outside of its borders.
