 Warranty : The DG Set comprising of Engine & Alternator carries a warranty against Defective
material/ Faulty workmanship for a period of 18 months from the time of supply, 12
months from the time of installation or 3000 operating hours, whichever occurs first.
However, extended warranty is given as 24 months from the date of installation or 5000
operating hours whichever is earlier if the consumables viz., the Lube (K- Oil), Coolant
conditioner (K- Cool) & all filters and spares are sourced from Kirloskar Authorized
Service outlet. The warranty on battery and other electrical components shall be one
year only. The terms of KOEL warranty policy will have precedence under all
circumstances.
 Validity : 15 days from the date of this offer.
 Cancellation : In case of cancellation of order 15% of the Invoice value shall be deducted.
 Installations : Installations of D.G.Set including preparation of foundation unloading,
Extension of exhaust piping, fuel piping, Cabling, battery Charging,
Provision of diesel has to be arranged by you.
 Statutory : In case any variation on taxes/duties or if any new levy is imposed the same shall
Variation be to your account.

SPECIFICATION OF KIRLOSKAR GREEN CANOPY

Construction

Acoustic Enclosure:

KIRLOSKAR GREEN Acoustic enclosure shall be powder coated and fabricated out of 16
SWG CRCA MS Sheet. The silent canopy shall be of nut bolt type construction. Critical
processes of punching is done on CNC machines to maintain dimensional accuracy of
holes within 0.1mm. Powder coating is done after seven-tank surface preparation
process of sheet metal. Canopy panel and doors shall have inside lining of FIRE-
RETARDANT foam as acoustic material. Four hinged doors shall be provided to canopy,
one door shall have glass window for control panel.

Base Frame:

Base frame is fabricated either in ISMC channel or in sheet metal. The base frame will be
primer coated and printed. The base frame is rugged in construction and designed for
mounting KOEL engine and KG alternator close coupled, with cross members mounted on
AVM. The base frame shall have provision for mounting of acoustic enclosure & control
panel on it. The base frame is having provision of lifting hook for convenient lifting of
complete set, i.e along with canopy, engine & alternator.

Colour scheme.

The base plate and top is powder coated with OXFORD BLUE/ PEPSI BLUE, the canopy is
powder coated with IVORY colour.

Performance Parameters

 The average sound level, when measured in green field condition (ISO 3744 or
8528PT 10) at 1 meter distance from all four sides shall be less than 75 dBA
average or as per CPCB norms.
 The average stabilized hot air temperature rise with in the canopy is maintained
with in 10o C over and above ambient temperature.
 KIRLOSKAR GREEN SILENT CANOPY FEATURES

1. RTU canopy kits, which can be assembled on site within a time period of 90
minutes.
2. Canopy fabricated on machines with dimensional accuracy of 0.1 mm.
3. Canopy is power coated after passing through seven tank processes.
4. Canopy is lined with acoustic foam, which is non-igniting/ Fire retardant
(confirming to BS 4735/BIS 7888).
5. No grouting required on the ground, only a level surface capable of withstanding
the DG weight.
6. Designed for installation in open-air conditions.
7. Lockable doors provided.
8. Lockable fuel filling arrangement provided external to the canopy.
9. Residential Silencer is housed in the canopy.
10.Externally accessible emergency stop button.
11.The exhaust gases shall be taken out through a suitable flexible pipe to prevent
any back pressure on the engine.

Thermal Insulation:

The exhaust system and noise suppressor shall be provided with thermal insulation by
using fire retardant/ non igniting foam confirming to BIS 7888/BS 4735 to prevent excess
heat radiation on the engine and safe for operator.

Noise suppressor: (Silencer)

Absorption type Non resistance Residential Silencer insulated from inside with glass wool
shall be provided to suppress exhaust noise from the engine.

Wiring and Lighting:

PVC copper wire concealed in flexible conduit with florescent tube light/ bulb with MCB
shall be provided.

Surface Treatment-Painting:

The enclosure surface shall be suitably treated for degreasing, derusting and
phosphating. High quality powder coat treatment/ plant shall be used.

Fuel Tank:

Fuel tank shall be fabricated out of 14SWG CRCA MS sheet and is part of base frame. It
is duly painted and fitted with inlet and outlet connections. Float and gauge of pricol
make and fuel float switch of BARR make to be supplied.

Kirloskar Brand Stickers with Green band.

Canopy lights: 1 No. DC bulb fitted with suitable toggle switch and wiring.

Battery Stand.

Emergency Push Stop Button

The canopy shall have provision of emergency push button, which shall be housed in a
protective enclosure with a glass front.

Performance:

The sound level shall be less 75 dbA at a distance of 1 meter. The temperature
difference between ambient and air inlet at air cleaner within the enclosure will be
maintained well within 5-7 deg centigrade. The measurement of noice will be as per ISO
3744/ ISO 8528 (part 10) standard. This meets CPCB norms.

All other requirements that are essential to make the DG Set complaint to CPCB norms
for noise reduction shall form part of technical requirements.

Temperature rise inside the canopy.

The maximum permissible temperature rise above the ambient shall be 50 C tso 70 C.
