Abstract
This paper outlines my professional goals for the next five years. It includes classes,
seminars, conferences (and rationale) that I will participate in continuing my education as well as
teaching strategies to help meet the diverse needs of the students in my class that will enable me
to present engaging academic content. This timeline that I am presenting will help keep me
focused on short- and long-term goals, and continuing my passion of being a lifetime learner.

Putting a plan together for the next five years was an eye-opening assignment for
me. Seeing my short- and long-term goals made it seem so much more tangible. Teaching I feel
is a constant work in progress. Expanding past our comfort zone, self-reflection, documenting
our achievements and having a timeline of what I want to accomplish is an aid to getting
there. The timeline may change as the years progress but writing down the plans for five years
helps me envision an overall view of my future and what I need to achieve to continue moving

Year 1 -
1. As I have just recently finished my multi-subject credential and need to begin the
Induction Program so that I am able to clear the credential within the given 5 years
allowed.

3. Our district offers many intervention programs that I will be able to take. The program
that is being offered now is the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. This

with already proven resources to help transform learning and teaching. It is a showcase

2. I will be starting my doctorate program at UCLA for Psychology to better understand the
human mind and how it learns and processes. This will enable me to assist children in
alleviating the tremendous amount of stress that they are dealing with in today’s world.
3. Attend ISTE conference to see if there are new ways to protect students on the internet
and additional skills they need to learn through technology. “The International Society
for Technology in Education “ISTE” has crafted a description for a model digital-age
citizen through the ISTE standards for students” (Hamilton, 2015, p. 21).
Year 4 -
2. I would attend a CTA (California Teachers Association) Conference and attend seminars
career in administration.
Year 5 -
1. It is necessary to pass the CSET for Administration which measures knowledge and skills
in relation to an establish standard. This would allow me to see if this is a path which I
