2 Removal of DEF Supply Unit Coolant Line Fittings - EPA10

Remove as follows:

NOTICE: On some applications, the coolant line fitting will be a different style from what is on the replacement DEF
pump. Verify that the coolant line fittings that you are replacing are the same style that the chassis requires.

1. Determine what type of fittings are required for the chassis. See below.

2. Remove the two coolant fittings (1, 2) from the DEF pump.

3 Installation of the DEF Supply Unit Coolant Line Fittings - EPA10

Install as follows:
1. Install new coolant line fittings (1) that are correct for the chassis into the coolant ports for the DEF pump. Torque the
fitting to 19 to 21 N·m (14 to 15 lb·ft).

4 Installation of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump Module

4 Installation of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump Module

Install as follows:

NOTICE: Verify that the coolant line fittings on the replacement DEF pump are the same style for the chassis
application you are working on. If the fittings are incorrect, they will need to be replaced.

1. Install the bolts that fasten the mounting bracket to the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump. Torque to 26 N·m (19 lb·ft).
2. Install the DEF pump and mounting bracket onto the mounting studs and install nuts (1). Torque to 31 N·m (23 lb·ft).

NOTICE: To connect a DEF coolant line, push the line coupling onto the DEF port male connector, then pull back
gently on the coupling to engage the holding clip in the locked position.

3. Verify that the DEF coolant lines and connectors are clean then install the lines (1, 5).
4. Connect the coolant lines (3).

5. Connect the compressed air line (2).

6. Connect the electrical harness connector (4).

7. Install the two DEF lines with the retaining clips to the flange (1) on the mounting plate. Install the nut and bolt, then
tighten.

WARNING: EYE INJURY

To avoid injury from flying debris when using compressed air, wear adequate eye protection (face
shield or safety goggles) and do not exceed 276 kPa (40 psi) air pressure.

8. Using a suitable air pressure regulator, regulate shop air to 55 psi. Using clean, dry, and oil-free shop air, a standard air
fitting and an air pressure gauge, inflate the DEF pump module air bladder to 2.8-3.2 bar (40-46 psi) through the Schrader
valve.
9. Install the protective cover (1). Install and torque bolts (2) to 50 N·m (37 lb·ft).

10. Fill the cooling system and check for leaks.

11. Connect the batteries.
