Orthopedic Surgeon

Each individual person has their own dreams and goals whether they want to be a nurse,

FBI agent, or a police. Our future career can sometimes be driven by inspiration whether it’s

from a family member or someone they really cared about. I am one of those person that was

inspired by someone which was my sister and in the future I want to focus on becoming a

Orthopedic Surgeon.

In addition, throughout my whole life I always wanted to be a doctor specifically a

surgeon. My inspiration and motivation that led me to choose this career was thanks to my older

sister who has Osteogenesis Imperfecta also known as brittle bone disease. At first I never really

understood her situation until I was in middle school which I then decided to do more research

about her disease. Every time she would have a doctor’s appointment either at Santa Monica or

UCLA I would go with her and I would listen to the doctor on how he explains her condition. I

would go everywhere with her if it’s a doctor’s appointment or her therapies specifically aquatic

and physical. Learning about her condition made me want to study more about the bones in the

human body system which I then dedicated myself to be an orthopedic surgeon in the future. I

plan to go to a medical school where I can major in biology and later focus on becoming a

surgeon.

Additionally, as a senior I’m currently working on applications for college which I am

applying to UC’s, privates, and Cal States. My dream school is to go to UCLA or Stanford

because they are the best medical schools in California which it would best suit me for my future

career. My goal is to apply to different schools to see if they would accept me in the school I

want to get into and applying to different schools would benefit me because if I don’t get

accepted in my dream school I could always have a backup school. After, I send all my

application to UC’s, privates, and Cal States I would focus on applying for FAFSA and financial

aid. I really hope that I get accepted to UCLA or Stanford because it would show my family that

I am capable of becoming someone in life. When I finished all the artifact that needs to be

completed for college applications I would focus on improving my grades for the finals. My

second goal is to graduate from high school with high honors which shows that I need to start

coming to tutoring so that I could improve my grades. When I graduate from high school during

the summer I would look for a par time job so that I could help my parents pay for my college.

Lastly, if I do get accepted to at least one of my dream school I would start school on fall of 2019

and my true journey would begin.

Furthermore, when I get accepted to either UCLA or Stanford University I want to major

in biology because when I researched more information on Orthopedic Surgeon I am required to

major in biology. I feel that I would have a great experience in college because I would get a

chance to learn more about the human anatomy specifically the musculoskeletal system which

focuses more on the bone, ligaments, nerves, tendons, cartilage, joints, and muscles. In the future

I plan to graduate from either UCLA or Stanford University so that I could do my residency in a

hospital. After, graduating from a medical school I could start looking at hospitals where I could

do my 6 yrs. of residency. I still don’t know what hospital I want to work in but I plan to do more

research on hospitals that need orthopedic surgeons. When I start to work in a hospital in the

future, my goal is to always help people with conditions like what my sister has or any other

conditions that’s related to the bones.

In conclusion, any person can be driven by inspiration which it can lead to motivation for

someone. Any dream or goal can be achieved if you put your time and effort on it. I already have

my plan set for the future which means that I know what college I want to go to, what I want to

major in, and what I want to be. My main purpose is to help people and I believe in the future I

would be an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon.
