Evidence: The story of bottled water

Bottled water is one of the most dramatic problems in our consumerist society.
Every day millions of people around the world drink bottled water and then
throw away the empty bottle to the garbage. Consequently, the world is
becoming full of empty plastic bottles.

After you watch the video answer the following questions. Use any voice
recording software to record your answers. Use will and first and second
conditional in the answers.

 What are the problems derived from drinking bottled water? Mention two
problems at least.
 R/ when a lot of oil is used to make plastic bottles and when
we see many plastic bottles in the streets.
 What is the difference between bottled water and drinking water?
 R/ Bottled water is made companies; instead, drinking water is simply
from the tap and has no process.
 Describe the process involved in manufacturing a plastic bottle.
 R/ The companies obtain the raw materials, then they are incinerated
and from there the new bottles arise.
 What happens with the plastic bottles after we throw them away?
 R/ If they do not degrade on the ground, they are collected and
incinerated.
 What solutions can be implemented to solve this problem?
 R/ If we promote campaigns in schools about bottled water, people
will stop buying bottled water and drink tap water.
 Is this problem common in your community? What does the community do to
deal with it?
 R/ Yes, this problem is common in my community. We carry
out campaigns so that people drink tap water and do not buy
bottled water.
 Will you drink bottled water again? Why, why not?
 R/ I will try not to drink bottled water again. I will try to drink tap water.
And if I buy bottled water, I will deposit the bottle in the correct
container.
 What will you do in the future to reduce the number of plastic bottles used in
the world?
 R/ I will try not to drink bottled water and I will tell people
and my family about the consequences.
