Executive summary

Lightyear company is a start-up business who transport products from factory to their
distribution places. We provide a good quality service, including friendly customer service
and good quality of truck during delivering. We have various type of truck that customer can
chose ,for example 4 wheel truck , 6 wheel truck , and container truck . Our service mostly
local business who delivering agriculture things which is suitable to our canvas truck too. The
reason behind it is because canvas truck can fill more product than the container truck.
Although our business is mainly local truck we also have container truck too.For the
container truck, we mostly use it for delivering the product that have an exact shape like
rectangle and square box.So we use container truck to delivering snack box from pepsi cola
thai trading. Our company is very concern about the customer service and the safety of
products. We always have a safety tools check before delivering the products because safety
came first. Moreover, we also have 5G GPS for manager and customer to track the route
where the truck is. For our customer service, customer can call to the office for 24 hours.
Nowadays, start-up business grow rapidly both big and small company ,so these are our
target customer. We can be realized that start-up business might not have a cost to have their
own distributing car ,which most of the company need the truck to delivers their product to
the customer hand.
Earn , CEO of the Lightyear company, has such a great experience in management
and finance from Oxford and Stanford university which is one of the top college in the entire
world. Also she have friends to help her manage the company too , such as kate ; she have a
responsibility to create the advertising and attractive website. We decided to invest some of
our money but more than usual to promote our website because it is such a great opportunity
to introduce our business to the new generation of people. Also youngster use most of their
time on the internet and social media and I believe that in the future our world would be all
online that communicate through online. For my another friend tae , he have a responsibility
to do the accounting like how much we can gain or lost this month ,so we can have the best
decision for the next month plan like should be buy more trucks or improve the appearance of
the trucks to promote our company and also increase in sale value.
Industry analysis
Our company is about delivering product (in large amount) from company’s factory to
their warehouse ,distribution center, or any places that the customers wanted to.We provide a
service that serve a customer with a great quality services.We have various size of cars that
customer can choose that are suitable for the quantity of products.For instance, if the
customer want to use a smaller truck , we would provide you a 6-wheel or 4-wheel truck.But
if the customers want bigger one and more capacity ,we will provide you a 10-wheel
truck.Our truck’s appearance is local with canvas, but we also provide a container truck
which customers can put this into the consideration.For others company that we are
competing mainly are DHL , nim-see-seng ,or Linfox.

Nowadays, we could see the main problem in delivering the product like the products are not
arrived on time or there are damaged products which might not satisfy the customer. In
deliver the products , we need to be sure that the products are safe along the ways and right
on time. So, our service provide a great quality of service along the way delivering, including
fire extinguisher, good quality petroleum, and safety shirt that can reflect the light

grow up rapidly, so that we have more and more competitors. In order to survive among those
environment, technological advance is the important things to have. Now we have to serve
our service to the customer hand not for them to come to us. In order to reach to the
customer, we have to create an attractive website which all can be access and add more
technological advance like 5G. New generation uses social media and internet a lots,which I
think it is such a great way to introduce our service to them.

Long-term prospect
In the future , I think our business will growth in sales and more customer because we will
have more customers in future due to the start up business that tend to increase every
year.whenever people have their own business they usually need to deliver their product to
reach the customer. So I think our business will able to survive in the future but may be more
competitive among others transportation company.

Company history
Nowadays, there are many retail store in every area of country including country side
so, it difficult for big company to distribute products from main factory to those area. In
addition, to transfer product easily, company has to either built other factories to each area or
buy new truck that increase a number of investment cost for employee and products as well
as more work was bring to unperfected system that can cause a lot of mistake to products, for
example, miss or broke it. Therefore, our company can see this space and came up with our
business idea “Lightyear”

Mission statement
“Light year” company come up with the delivery service for large amount of products
in term of business to business style in order to continue processing the product to another
step by we will only deliver product to anywhere customers want. Moreover, providing best
quality of service as the product will safely arrive to the customer.

to business which mean we delivery mostly large amount product so, our customer will be the
large company or factories that want us transfer product in order to distribute the product to
other steps, for example, lays (chips) that we get the product from factories and place it at
warehouse to expand to retail store.

Our customers which mostly the factories might have no time or don’t want to waste
money for adding employee so, they take our service to transfer product. Because, now, there
are many factories that don’t want to waste money for those aforementioned part but, they
want their product to move so, they willies logistic service. To avoid damage to the product
which is what customer most desire we focus on this part and put it first thing that we will
concern as well as environment treads that be the big issue in today’s society, we also
concern about that and try to use environment friendly products.

place which might be consider that it same with other company. However, our service will
provide above what other competitors can do.
Our service will provide truly information and process of service to customer which
they can always check for the links that show the location of product by Gps in the car as
well as we try to save the environment by using eco car and E85 oil which can save the world
than other oil. Moreover, to give credit to our company, we will most concern about product
damaging.

by end the price with 99 baht to make customer feel it cheaper than the reality price.
However, our service has specific price for the area that popular as you can see on the table.
So, our setting price is proper for the business that want to transfer a number of staff in large
scale.

The main company is placed at sub urban area as Nakhon Pathom because it easy to travel
with less traffic congestion than central area; however, there also many ​branch in each district
(Bangkok and province)

Design and Development Plan

Our service have a lot size of cars to choose and the price will depend on the size of
the car so, customer can choose that what car they want to be able to support amount of
product that they want to transfer. In each case, we have staff who will be focus on that case
and take care of it from start to end to contact driver and customer so, their duty will include
telling destination or check car problem from the driver as well as we have application that
can tell location of the driver by using GPS in order to show where the product now to the
customer as well as the camera that set in front of the car to check the traffic and driver
behaviour and it will check every month. Furthermore, we have much concern the
environment so, we use the eco oil as E85 as well as try to use least plastic and also we do
have a campus nearby for the worker to lived in that make them more comfortable to drive to
the factory to fill the product in their trucks.

Challenges and risks

Due to our service have to face with traffic congestion or the accident on the road that
unexpected so, it might effect to the time and product in the car. As there are a number of
product so, it easy to missing some small pieces and sometimes driver, staff, and customer
can be misunderstand together.

The main project development cost will be the payment in oil and hiring driver
because we want to have a number of driver to support customer as well as, to run the car , oil
is the main factor so, we have to spend a lot of money to the oil.

Since we have to check the driver so, every driver must have drive license as well as
the car was guarantee that it correct to international law.
Operation plan
General approach to operations
We first made the contact with the customer, which could be 3 or 5 years contact that rely on
the customer want. This is done because we have to do the price agreement before the service
begin and it could avoid disagreement between customer and manager. After we receive the
plan for the customer, the worker distribute the plan to the truck driver to see their plan about
what time do they have to pack the product into the truck and what time should the products
be arrived. when the product arrived to the customer, the customer will pay for the service.
After the manager got the money, Earn then transfer the money to the truck driver.Notice that
we do not pay our truck driver as a month salary, but we do pay per ride.

Business location
As most factory that we received the products from is located in Chiang Mai, we do have a
campus nearby for the worker to lived in that make them more comfortable to drive to the
factory to fill the product in their trucks. Also we have a customer service there too, which
truck drivers can ask them questions about destination or car problem.Furthermore, we have
the main office at Nakhon Pra tom ,which the traffic is less than in Bangkok. Also we have a
small office in the south part of Thailand ,surat thani,because sometimes we need to transfer
the products from the south to the central.

which is based on the distance, weight of the product, and oil price at that moment.Moreover,
she is in charge of finance. She got into oxford university and applied for bachelor business
administration for the major of business management and logistic at the same time.She got a
first degree in her faculty. Later, she finished her master degree at stanford university in
finance. She have an experiences for 2 years working as a finance company assistant at CP.
Then she start up her business name Lightyear company with Kate .

Kate : sales and marketing manager


She have a responsibility to do an advertising on the internet and create our own website for
the customer to come to visit. Also, she is in charge of creating a campaign or marketing
strategy to satisfy the customer and to increase in sales value. First, she finished her bachelor
degree at Chulalongkorn university for marketing faculty and then complete her master
degree at Stanford university in marketing. With the knowledge that she has, she enter to
Mckinsey to do in marketing sector. She got 2 years experience there and quited to start up
her own business name lightyear company with her partner Earn.

Tae : Accounting manager


He have a responsibility to calculate debit and credit for the company .Also, he need to see
that does our company make a profit or not. Then after done the statement ,he hand the sheet
to the managing director to see the profit or lost. He was graduated from Boston university
for his bachelor degree in accounting.Then he completed his study at Bryant university for
his master degree. After that he went to be an accountant at Pepsi-cola thai trading for 3
years.
