1. Individual Term Paper- Action Planning


In your own organization, conduct an interview with your HR Head:
a. Understand the organizational challenges of HR and determine what problem can be
addressed through an OD intervention.
c. Assess what OD intervention can be implemented and discuss the benefits to the
organization then make recommendations to your HR.
d. Discuss the impact of study to personal life.
Activity:
a. Submit written report as per suggested format:
o Company Profile
o Organizational Structure/OD structure
o Organizational Challenges in organization
o OD intervention- target groups and desired changes
b. Submit paper on last day of session.

B. By Team- OD Research
1. Select a specific OD intervention topic.
2. Research about the subject (theoretical framework): definition, application, implementation
process, change expected, impact to organization and business.
3. Pick a local company that employs such intervention, prepare interview questionnaire and
conduct on-site interview with head of HR/OD.
4. Present report in ff format:
c.Theoretical framework of OD intervention
d. Brief introduction of selected company/research subject
e.Present the Interview Questionnaire developed and the profile of the respondent
f. Discussion of observation and findings
1. Describe the specific OD intervention as applied and impact to the workplace.
Seek evidence of associated performance indicator/ what are the
tangible/intangible results of the intervention?
2. Cite and explain any significant gaps between desired results vs the actual
results of change. Such gaps constitute major barriers to improvement.
5. Integrative set of recommendations to improve
c.Develop a best practice intervention profile suited to the company and its culture
(based on your theoretical framework). Define what specific action steps the
company should take to implement the intervention more effectively.
Activity: Submit full group report on day of presentation- copy furnish all members of the class.

GUIDE QUESTIONS THAT MAY APPLY TO OD RESEARCH:


1. How clear are the organization’s vision and goals, and to what extent is there a shared commitment
to them by external and internal stakeholders?
2. What is the impact of corporate leadership and direction on the management and development of
performance in the business?
3. What is the relationship between T&D and OD in the organization? How are roles defined and
delineated?
4. Does the leadership, organization and management of the OD function ensure that there are clear
and relevant OD goals for performance improvement and that those with OD roles and
responsibilities are competent to perform them?
5. Does the OD process ensure that all important performance-related needs are identified, agreed and
prioritized in line with business goals?
6. Do OD plans respond in a timely, relevant and cost-effective fashion to those needs?
7. Are OD plans implemented effectively, consistently across the organization?
8. Is there timely and effective monitoring and evaluation to enable valid assessment of OD activity’s
impact on workplace performance?
