Configure your Talk2M account

• Create new Talk2M Account (skip if existing)


• Create an eWON in your Account
• Get the Activation Key from eCatcher
o Software needed: eCatcher 4 (or higher)
Configure your Talk2M Account
Account Creation

1. Launch eCatcher
2. From the login page select
Create a Free+ Account
3. Fill the Account name, your
User name and Password and
click Next
4. Fill your company details and
click Create
5. An Email will sent to you for
activation of the account
before one can login
Configure your Talk2M Account
First Time Login

1. After activation, go back to eCatcher.


2. Use the Account name, User name and Password to Login into Talk2M
3. You must have internet access in your PC in order to login.
Note:
Please remember the Account name & User name and do not forgot them as it cannot be reset.

eWON Creation

1. Click on the Add


2. eWON Name - Give a name for your
Cosy/Flexy
3. eWON Description - Optional
4. Connection Type - and select Permanent,
click Next
5. In the next panel, you have 3 optional
custom fields that can be configured at
account level. In the example below, they
appear as Site, Location and Country. You
can leave it blank. Click Create.

The most practical way to register


your eWON is by Activation Key.
Click on the Copy to Clipboard
button to keep the activation key for
later use during the eWON
configuration.

• Click on the Blue Icon.


• Save the driver to your PC.
• Click eBuddySetup.exe to install eBuddy.
• Open a web bowser, search for eBuddy download.
• Click on the “Software| eWON – Industrial…….”.

Change the Cosy IP address

Connect the Laptop to Cosy LAN Port 1

• Connect your PC network adapter with the LAN port of


the eWON COSY using ethernet/LAN cable.

Startup eBuddy

• Ensure your PC is connected to the LAN port 1 of the Cosy.


• After the eBuddy is install into the PC, Click on the eBuddy Icon.
• Click Refresh if nothing shown.
• After press refresh, eWON info should appear in the list.
• If no eWON info appear on list, Check the following:
- Ensure LAN cable is Okay,
- Ensure both side connection are properly insert,
- Ensure Cosy is power up & LAN cable is connected to Port 1, not Port4 (WAN port).
Change the LAN IP Address
To match with your Machine LAN
1. Click on Set IP Address.
Select the eWON in the list, right click and
select Set IP Address

2. Serial number will not appear if you did select


the eWON in the list. Click Next.
3. Set the eWON IP address to an address within
the Machine LAN
In this demo, Cosy is set to 192.168.3.53
4. Press Next, wait until the eWON reboots

Important: select a LAN IP address that does not conflict with the WAN IP
address (= they have to be in different ranges).

ensure there is link between
Cosy & PC.

link between PC & PLC is okay
• And you should be able to do PLC
monitoring thro local connection.

Launching the Wizard

Click on the Wizards icon to start the Cosy


configuration.

Check that the eWON WAN port is connected to a network with Internet
access. We will need it during next configuration steps.

Enter a name for your eWON and specify
a new password, Click Next.

For security reasons, change the default password of the adm user.

Date and time need to be accurate for
the VPN connection
After clock setup, press Next.

LAN/WAN Configuration
Default WAN port is at Port4.
Default LAN Ports are Port 1~3.
At this page, you can change the WAN
port to another port number.
After changing, Click Next.

WAN connection
It checks if your configuration allows access to the Internet, meaning that the DHCP
server could be reached and
... that the Physical Protection is not used, OR
... that the Physical Protection is used AND the lock switch is closed

UDP Connection
Checks the UDP access to the Talk2M server

HTTP direct connection


Checks the TCP (HTTPS) access to the Talk2M server

Read Talk2m config


Using the Activation Key the wizard will retrieve the VPN-Keys & Certificates required for
the Talk2M VPN connection. If the activation keys do not match, an error message is
displayed.

Test VPN Connection


The eWON now establishes a VPN connection to the Talk2M server. The eWON uses the
UDP mode if the UDP test succeeded. If not, it will establish the VPN tunnel in TCP
mode.

The registration data (Activation Key or eWON name) is NOT stored in the eWON. It is only
used during the Talk2M wizard to retrieve the VPN keys. If, for any reasons, the wizard has
to be run again, the registration data will have to be re-entered.
5. Ensure Cosy remote connection Establish

The eWON COSY setup is now completed. At the bottom right, there are 3 status icon.

Green Earth icon- Internet connection is okay.


Green Cloud icon- VPN connection is okay.
Last Green icon- Gateway connection is okay.

If you click on the status, it will go to Summary page.


Your eWON COSY is online in eCatcher

Login to eCatcher account,


• Your eWON COSY
• is now connected to Talk2M
• appears with a green icon in the eWON list of eCatcher.

• This is to ensure that PC is able to remote connection between
Cosy & PLC.

• It will auto open a web browser & direct to Cosy Login screen
