I remember when I was a perfectly normal, healthy child but I don't remember what

happened to change that. When I was thirteen I got into a four wheeler accident that could have
been a lot worse then it was. My friend was driving down a long curvy driveway next to my field.
She was going exceedingly fast. We were going around the bend when a truck comes out of no
where. My friend turned the four wheeler to the right, leading us into part of the woods with
thorns and poison ivy. She turned sharp causing me to fly off of the four wheeler, almost into a
tree. Instead, I landed hard against the thorny ground while the four wheeler flipped over top of
us. Causing me to sprain my wrist and my friend to break a few fingers.

A few weeks later that's when everything changed. I went to North Carolina to see my sister
graduate from boot camp. Me and my family stayed in a hotel. The morning we went to go see
her graduate, I woke up in agonizing pain. A pain that I have never felt in my life but I put my
smile on and got ready for the day. I went to go get a shower and as I was undressing myself, I
seen multiple rashes everywhere on my body. My mind was going several places. I remember
asking myself "what could this be?" "How could this happen?" I went to the bathroom door and
called my mom into the bathroom. I told her to take a look at my legs. She was just as confused
as I was. All I wanted to do was dress up and look nice for my sisters big graduation day. I tried
putting jeans on but that caused me more pain. I ended up wearing sweatpants because every
other thing I tried putting on just put me in more excruciating pain.

When we got back to Ohio I went to my pediatrician to see if they knew what it would be. At
first the thought it was poison ivy but they knew that couldn't be it so they sent me to many
different doctors. I ended up going to Akron children's hospital in boardman. Where three months
later they finally figured out what was going on with me and I was diagnosed with SLE (systemic
lupus erythematosus) also know as lupus in November of 2013.

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic autoimmune disease. This disease can affect the
joints, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. My doctor explained it to me in a way I could
kind of understand. She said in a normal human body, antibodies that are in their immune system
fights off germs, bacteria, and viruses. But in my body, my immune system creates
autoantibodies which attack and destroy healthy tissue. I this mean that I can get sick very easily
and can possibly even die. The autoantibodies can cause inflammation, pain, and damage in
various parts of the body. There is no cure or known cause to lupus but something inside of me
tells me that the four wheeler crash had something to do with it.

Since I was diagnosed I have been admitted into the hospital once for four days due to
having a kidney biopsy. I have been to multiple doctors offices more than once. I have a monthly
visit to the doctors and take many pills a day. I have had severe pain in many different parts of
my body. I am slowly but surly getting better one day at a time.

"Again and again"

One night I had my birthday party in a hotel with two of my closest friends Julia, and Danielle.
We were bored so we started messing with a deck of cards. At first we played "go fish" but then
Julia took the cards and stacked them in a pile. We started playing the guessing game. I had the
guess what number the next card is. Every time I guessed the number four, that was the number
that would pop up. Ever since then four has been repeatedly showing up all over in my life.
People think I'm crazy.

About 5 months later I went over to Julia's house. She was the one who kept the cards.
When I walked into her room I saw the all four of the number four cards pinned to her wall. I
asked why she did that. She told me that the week before I came over, a cup of water spilled all
over the deck of cards and that those are the only cards that didn't get ruined. I was beyond
mind blown. After that I came to a conclusion that four will be my favorite/lucky number. A month
ago my Grammie went to the Trumbull Memorial hospital to have surgery. When we got to the
hospital I noticed that her room number was four.
