the Consecration of the Mace of Orcus

The following ritual is a consecration ritual for The Mace of Orcus. This Ritual uses a balkara of
Polish or Russian origin. The Mace is to be consecrated Die Jupiter in the eighth hour of NOX. The
Temple is arranged with an Altar in the West, where the Mace is placed during the Consecration.
The Circle of Daggers in the East, facing West with an Altar within. This Altar is covered in Black
and has the Wand and Dagger upon its topmost face. The Magician will wear their black Robes
and bathe before the Ritual. The scent used is white copal. A skull is upon the Altar in the West,
otherwise it is bare (excepting the Mace).

a ritual of Vampirism
The following Ritual is designed to vampirise an individual or individuals. It is without ethical con-
sideration that this Ritual is presented, forming that of those beyond the Knowledge of Good and
Evil. The Magician will have a black hooded Robe, the Mace of Orcus, and an item of sympathetic
origin to the victim(s)36. These items are to be placed in the Triangle in the West of the Temple.

the evocation of azrael

The following Ritual is an example of Angelic Evocation; it involves Congress with Azrael, an Angel
of Death. This Angel is sacred within the Astrum Antares; therefore, the Evocation of Azrael forms
an act of Goetic Theurgy42. The Magus will wear Order Robes and The Temple will be arranged as
for Angelic Evocation. The Triangle (that of Solomon) is placed in the West, the Circle (that of Dag-

the Consecration of the Box

The Magician will need, in their career, a box to store their Weapons. For those of the Astrum
Antares the following Ritual is offered. The Box is to be black, it may be made of wood or iron, steel
or other such materials. The Box is to have a lock, and the sigil of Kerberos is to be engraved, or
painted upon the Box, front and center, as to ward off the unwary who may attempt to enter into
the Vessel of The Magician. The Box will be large enough to store the four elemental weapons of
the Magician, in addition to some various other necessities, such as incense and charcoal. The Box
may have other various characters upon it, painted in silver, the Four Elemental Names of God in
the Enochian script such as:

drawn in the form of a serpent will profit the Magician, although Kerberos is a suitable guardian.
This Ritual may also be used as an Evocation of Kerberos, or rather the Calling of the
Guardian, in which a talisman is used instead of the Box, where the charging is to provide an Astral
Form of the Guardian to deter those who may desecrate or defile one’s instruments. Talismata may
then be placed within the Box afterwards; although, it is still preferable to have a Brazen Vessel
for such items. The Magician will then construct the Box, and fashion it according to the previous
requirements, finally Consecrating the empty box on the new moon, die Mars, in the third Hour of
the NOX. The candles used will be deep scarlet, or black. There may be four candles at the quarters
of the Circle; however, these are to be dark scarlet or black in addition to the Candle in the West,
and/or East. The Temple is arranged with an Altar within the Triangle in the West, where the Box
is placed during the Consecration. The Circle of Daggers in the East, facing West with an Altar
within. This Altar is covered in Black and the Wand and Dagger are upon its topmost face. The Ma-
gician will wear their black Robes and bathe before the Ritual. The burnt offering is of siamese
benzoin. If the Conjuration of the Guardian is being used instead, a talisman such as a smoky quartz,
black pearl, obsidian, jet, or onyx is inscribed with Kerberos’ sigil and placed within the Triangle,
in lieu of the Box.

a prayer of Compassion and Mercy

The following is to be performed as Prayer or supplication. This Prayer is used to appeal to the Di-
vine Compassion of the Peaceful and Wrathful Ones in the Bardo54. The Magician is the weaver of
Maya, and therefore the creator of many thoughtforms upon our Existence. These thoughtforms
contribute to the morass of Sangsara we find ourselves mired in. This prayer is taken from the
Bardo Thodol, published in the Tibetan Book of The Dead55. The use of the Bardo Thodol in this
Prayer is intended to invoke the Compassion, or Mercy, of our Divinity. (Although not pertaining
specifically to the Scorpionic Divinity, the passage through The Afterlife dealt with here is generally
that of passing through the narrow passageway to rebirth, and this indicates not allowing one’s
Self to enter into the various Kingdoms. These Kingdoms include the various realms such as Hades,
and others, which appear along the journey of the rebirth of the individual soul back into the phe-

nomenal world). The Heart of the Scorpion is a specific prayer to the Star Antares, and in this
Prayer we are travelling through to the Source of Existence, therefore it is less deity specific. One
must then also consider the Trinity contained within our Astrum56.
This Prayer is excellent when used after periods of Theurgy involving Hades, Orcus, and
DisPater, or after Goetic Practices. The Temple will be bare except for the permanent features, the
Altar will be black with a white candle, images of Santa Muerte or Hades, Death, or similar per-
sonifications of the Spiritus Mortis may be present. The incense may vary, although sandalwood
is an excellent choice for this Ritual. The Magician will wear their black Robes with the hood drawn,
the candle will be lit, the incense burnt and the asana, The Dragon assumed. It may be performed
within the Circle of Antares, and in most instances the Temple will face East57. After the prelimi-
naries are attended to, and the asana assumed, a short pause of reflection is performed, and the
following is read:
[Bardo Thodol]
O ye Conquerors and your Sons, abiding in the Ten Directions,

O ye ocean—like Congregation of the All—Good Conquerors, the
Peaceful and the Wrathful, O ye Gurus and Devas, and ye Dākinis, the Faithful Ones,
Hearken now out of [your] great love and compassion: Obeisance,
O ye assemblage of Gurus and Dākinls, Out of your great love,lead us along the Path.
When, through illusion, I and others are wandering in the
Sangsāra, Along the bright light—path of undistracted listening,
reflection, and meditation, May the Gurus of the Inspired Line lead us,
May the bands of Mothers be our rear—guard,
May we be saved from the fearful narrow passageway of
the Bardo, May we be placed in the state of the perfect Buddhahood.
When, through violent anger, [we are] wandering in the
Sangsāra, Along the bright light—path of the Mirror—like Wisdom,
May the Bhagavān Vajra—Sattva lead us,May the Mother Māmaki be our rear—guard,
May we be saved from the fearful narrow passage—way of
When, through intense pride, [we are] wandering in the

Bardo, May we be placed in the state of the perfect Buddhahood.
May the ethereal elements not rise up as enemies;
May it come that we shall see the Realm of the Blue Buddha.

May it come that the Tri—Kāya will be realized in the Bardo,
O now, when the Birthplace Bardo upon me is dawning! Abandoning

idleness—there being no idleness in [a devotee’s] life—
Entering into the Reality undistractedly, listening, reflecting, and

appearances and of mind, may the Tri—Kāya be realized:
Once that the human form hath been attained,
May there be no time [or opportunity] in which to idle it [or human

corpse—like sleeping of the sleep of
stupidity, May the consciousness undistractedly be kept in its natural state;
Grasping the [true nature of] dreams, [may I] train [myself] in the
Clear Light of Miraculous Transformation:
Acting not like the brutes in slothfulness,
May the blending of the practising of the sleep [state] and actual [or
waking] experience be highly valued [by me].
O now, when the Dhyāna Bardo upon me is dawning!
Abandoning the whole mass of distractions and illusions,
May [the mind] be kept in the mood of endless undistracted Samādhi
May firmness both in the visualizing and in the perfected [stages] be obtained
At this time, when meditating one—pointedly, with [all other] actions
put aside, May I not fall under the power of misleading, stupefying passions.
O now, when the Bardo of the Moment of Death upon me is
dawning! Abandoning attraction and craving, and weakness for all [worldly
things],May I be undistracted in the space of the bright [enlightening]
teachings, May I [be able to] transfuse myself into the heavenly space of the
Unborn:The hour hath come to part with this body composed of flesh and
blood; May I know the body to be impermanent and illusory.
O now, when the Bardo of the Reality upon me is dawning,
Abandoning all awe, fear, and terror of all [phenomena],
May I recognize whatever appeareth as being mine own thought—
forms, May I know them to be apparitions in the Intermediate State;
[It hath been said], ‘There arriveth a time when the chief turning—
point is reached;
Fear not the bands of the Peaceful and Wrathful, Who are thine own
thought—forms’.
O now, when the Bardo of [taking] Rebirth upon me is dawning!
One—pointedly holding fast to a single wish,
[May I be able to] continue the course of good deeds through
repeated efforts; 1May the womb—door be closed and the revulsion recollected: The
hour hath come when energy and pure love are needed; [May I] cast
off jealousy and meditate upon the Guru, the Father—Mother.
[O] procrastinating one, who thinketh not of the coming of death,
Devoting thyself to the useless doings of this life,
Improvident art thou in dissipating thy great opportunity;
Mistaken, indeed, will thy purpose be now if thou returnest empty—
handed [from this life]:
Since the Holy Dharma is known to be thy true need, Wilt thou not
devote [thyself] to the Holy Dharma even now?’

The following is a Ritual of Necromancy. It is not intended to follow the traditional ceremony of
antiquity for ‘waking the ghost’ in that Necrophilia is not intended, rather the calling of the de-
parted or deceased through the traditional form of Evocation. It is recommended that the Circle
still be present in the East, facing the Triangle of Art (placed in the West). The Ritual is best per-
formed at Night. The incense is Siamese Benzoin and the Candles should be Black. If any personal
affects of the deceased are owned they are placed within the Triangle, if no personal affects of the
deceased are owned the name of the departed can be inscribed in a small plate of gold and placed
within the Triangle. It is preferable to use a candle within the Triangle to descrye the Spirit; how-
ever, a crystal may also be present. The Magician will Bathe and Robe, open the Temple and call

the ritual of the Blue Lotus

The following is a Ritual component of the mystical Work contained within the Astrum Antares61.
The Temple consists of midnight blue drapings and altar cloths, the Robes worn are those of mid-
night blue satin with a hood and the libations are to be blue lotus tea. These are contained within
two Cups, which may be earthenware of dark blue. There is the use of the Lamp, this Lamp must
have oil prepared to make an azure flame. One may consecrate this Oil through Prayer and a drop
of Abra=Melin Oil within the Lamp is also more than appropriate. The Magician is to burn blue
lotus incense; and, although it is not preferable, one may also employ white lotus incense if proper
blue lotus incense can not be found62. This Ritual may be performed alone or with another practi-
tioner of The Royal Art. The candles are to be midnight blue beeswax and the candlesticks are to
be brass. The Candlesticks will have engraved upon the base the cross of AGLA which can be found
upon the bottom sides of the Sigillum Dei Amaeth of Dee. The tea is to be upon a small altar before
the main altar, this in the West. The teapot should be aquamarine or deep blue, the incense is upon
the main altar as are two candles within brass candlesticks, there is to be a quartz crystal upon
the main altar, and if the disks of Chaos Therion (those being the Sigil of Chaos Therion) are owned
there is to be one below the quartz in the center of the Altar. There are to be two brass vases con-
tained dried roses, six in each side. The Magi or Magician will bathe, Robe, banish, consecrate and
invoke within the Temple.

the Consecration of the Lamp

The Lamp is to be of the ingenium of the Magus; however, regardless of material, the Lamp will
have lightly engraven upon it the sigils of the Angels of LIL (being Occodon, Pascomb, and Valgars)
These are not to be visible, however they are to be used during the three evocations which are
performed in the Consecration of The Lamp. In each of the three angelic evocations the Triangle
is in the East, the Circle is in the West and the incense used is Kyara. The Candles are to be white,
there are four candles at the four corners of the Circle and there is a Candle within the Triangle.
The Lamp is not lit during these Rituals; however it is within the Circle within the Triangle. There
is a Holy Phial of Water and a censer for the Burnt Offering. The Magician follows the standard
form for Angelic Evocation, bathing, banishing and invoking, etc. The Evocations are best suited
during the NOX while Luna is of even undulation.
