Objectives of the Study

The general objective of this study is to know and asses The Level of Awareness
of Cagayan State University Cbea Students to Cybercrime Law (Republic Act 10175)
Specifically, the study aims to determine the Personal Profile of the informants in

CBEA in terms of their age and gender. The researchers intend to know and assess the

knowledge of the informants about the Cybercrime Law. The study also aims to know and

assess the level of awareness and its relationship to the profile. Moreover, this study aims to

unmask the violations committed by the informants if there’s any, and reveal if the informant’s

rights was violated and remedies granted to the victims of cybercrime.

Statement of the Problem


The study aims to know and assess the factors affecting the awareness of CBEA

students to Republic Act No. 10175- Cybercrime Law. More specifically it aims to answer the

following questions:

1. What is the personal profile of the respondents in terms of:

a. Age

b. Sex

2. What is the level of awareness of the informants in terms of:

a. Punishable Acts (Under Chapter 2 of RA 10175)

b. Penalties

3. Is there a significant difference between the level of awareness of Cybercrime Law when

group according to personal profile?

This study is composed of three (3) major parts: the input, process, and the output. The

input is consists of the personal data of the informants which includes the following: name, age

and sex. The personal data served as a guide for us in determining the level of awareness

towards Cybercrime law. The student’s profile is existent to determine whether or not their age

and sex have significant effect or change to their awareness towards Cybercrime law..

In the process, the method used for the collection of data or pieces of information is a

questionnaire. Random students are picked from different courses enrolled in the college. The

questionnaire contains all the punishable acts and penalties under the said law to test their

awareness. The output will determine the level of awareness of informants to Republic Act No.

10175. The results varied to the informants help this study for colourful outcome or being

informative.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

In this chapter, the researchers’ presents, explains, and clarifies the methods,

techniques and strategies used in collecting, analyzing and interpreting the raw data.
Research Design

Descriptive-quantitative research design was utilized given that it needs a thick

descriptions and for researcher-informant collaboration. The purpose of the researchers in

utilizing the descriptive-quantitative approach is to obtain vital information in the college.

Locale of the Study

This study will be conducted at Cagayan State University- Andrews Campus, Tuguegarao

City: College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy (CBEA) where the student

informants are enrolled in different courses.

Informants of the Study

The informants of the study will be the students of Cagayan State University- Andrews

Campus of CBEA department who are enrolled from the different courses. The researchers have

chosen the aforementioned campus because this is the same campus where they are enrolled.

The interpretation of the data gathered will serve as a basis for the level of awareness of CBEA

students to Cybercrime Law.

Research Instrument

The researchers devised a questionnaire that contains the punishable acts and penalties

given by the law. The questionnaire served as a moderator guide in the determination of their

level of awareness to Cybercrime Law.
