Reflection

In the quarter 2 of English 12, I experienced a lot of hard work that I was assigned to,
however, it help me with reading & writing skill, and my vocabulary as well. There are tons
of hard work and difficulties I faced, nonetheless, there are plenty of them that quite
enjoyable. For instance, the first assignment that I had to create a poem using template given
which I think it’s fun to put whatever I want in each specific category concerning about my
personal detail and heritage of both me and my family. My favourite part about that
assignment is that I decided to have each word rhyme with each other which is not required ,
but just my preference. Venn Diagram is also fun because I was able to learn from a friend in
my classroom that I am not familiar to and find some similarities and differences, such as
tradition, custom, ethnicity, favourite cuisine, movies and musics as well. Choice board is
also a enjoyable assignment as we can choose what tasks I will do each day. The first task, I
decided to create a storyboard about the incident that Chielo take Ezinma to the Oracle and
Okonkwo show his sympathy clearly for the first time in the novel. I like it because I can
decorate and make some artworks which I occasionally do. The second and the third task, I
wrote analysis and a poem respectively which is less fun than the first one.Nonetheless, I still
appreciate my own work for the reason that it is the most scored I had been done in quarter 2.
I would say that those works are the proudest work I did in quarter 2 because I obtain writing
tips and a lot of vocabulary that can be useful in English proficiency exams as well.

Although there are a lot of amusing works, there are tons of challenges I find difficult
to deal with too. One of those is Literature Circle which is require tons of researches I had to
do at home. The first role I did is not quite hard as a summariser who conclude everything I
had read, but another role I did is quite tough which is Researcher. I, as a researcher, needed
to find information about background information we need to know in order to understand
Things Fall Apart better. Those include religion, judge system and characteristics of various
religion to compare perspective with the belief of Igbo people. I find this difficult because I
needed to make sure that not only I understand all of that data, but also other members on the
group which hard to explain. Moreover, large part of the score depend on my performance as
well, so it a little bit pressure to make all of my friend comprehend what I said and to make it
as long as the time required. Anyway, the most arduous to deal with is the final project due to
the fact that it require thousand of words to write, difficult article to analyse & create the
connection to the novel, and it worth large portion of the grade. After all, it is useful that I can
practice writing skill, reading skill and also be able to citrate the references.

The most progressive area I can think of is writing skill. I have improved the using of
vocabularies, transition words, grammar and various sentence structure; due to the fact that a
lot of assignments in this quarter require tons of writing. Some of the works that I can see my
progress are TIQA contradiction of Okonkwo, Choice board and Unit 2 Project which
provide me an opportunity to increase ability of using English Language. I think all of this
skills can be advantageous in IELTs or TOEFL examination in the future.
