Few weeks ago, We the ‘The Drugons’ did two advertistment videos to create awareness to

educate them about drugs. We conducted a survey involving 10 academians,10 students and 10
outsiders.

Advertisement ONE (educating people on how to accept them)

In this advertisement, the theme is more into educating people by conducting more workshops
and programs about people who need help, the former drug abusers are in need of help. They
would not want to spend more time with the former drug users and friends, who could easily
trick them again into using drugs. So in these kinds of situation, if people are not accepting them,
they would be stressed out and it will lead them back to their former life. So it is important for
the society to know about these things.

Advertisement TWO (Accept)

After former drug users go through a large time in the rehab, some will need friends, some will
think that they cannot be the same as they were, that they had gone through something which no
one want to know about or be accepted. So in this Advertisement, a person who had gone
through such things had very well given his life story, and that he wanted a change. He wanted to
be the voice for the voiceless, and does not want to be shut down because of what he had gone
through, so let people know just like him, the others had gone through something very hard and
difficult in life. His story ends with people accepting him into the society after he had gone
through rehab.

Both of the advertisement link to each other since the main idea is accepting them into the
society, people should be educated on Drugs and Abuse and what it can do. So that former drug
users would be accepted since everyone is human and they all need a chance to be once again
good in life.

INTRODUCTION

What is a Drug ?

A drug is any substance (other than food that provides nutritional support) that,
when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbedvia a patch on the skin, or dissolved under
the tongue causes a temporary physiological (and often psychological) change in the body.

What is Drug Abuse ?

Drug abuse, is a patterned use of a drug in which the user consumes the substance in amounts or

with methods which are harmful to themselves or others, and is a form of substance-related

disorder. Widely differing definitions of drug abuse are used in public health, medical and

criminal justice contexts. In some cases criminal or anti-social behavior occurs when the person

is under the influence of a drug, and long term personality changes in individuals may occur as

well.[5] In addition to possible physical, social, and psychological harm, use of some drugs may

also lead to criminal penalties, although these vary widely depending on the local jurisdiction.[6]
What is Drug Addiction ?

Addiction is a chronic disease characterized by drug seeking and use that is compulsive, or

difficult to control, despite harmful consequences. The initial decision to take drugs is voluntary

for most people, but repeated drug use can lead to brain changes that challenge an addicted

person’s self-control and interfere with their ability to resist intense urges to take drugs. These

brain changes can be persistent, which is why drug addiction is considered a "relapsing" disease

people in recovery from drug use disorders are at increased risk for returning to drug use even

after years of not taking the drug.

It's common for a person to relapse, but relapse doesn't mean that treatment doesn’t work. As

with other chronic health conditions, treatment should be ongoing and should be adjusted based

on how the patient responds. Treatment plans need to be reviewed often and modified to fit the

patient’s changing needs.

Types of Drugs and the study shown on how drugs have escalated

Drugs most often associated with this term include: alcohol, cannabis, barbiturates,
benzodiazepines, cocaine, methaqualone, opioids and some substituted amphetamines. The
exact cause of substance abuse is not clear, with the two predominant theories being: either a
genetic disposition which is learned from others, or a habit which if addiction develops,
manifests itself as a chronic debilitating disease.[7]
In 2010 about 5% of people (230 million) used an illicit substance.[2] Of these 27 million have

high-risk drug use otherwise known as recurrent drug use causing harm to their health,

psychological problems, or social problems that put them at risk of those dangers.[2][3] In 2015
CONCLUSION

Because substance abuse and delinquency are inextricably interrelated, identifying substance-

abusing youth in the juvenile justice system is an important first step for intervening in both their

substance abuse and their delinquent behavior. Drug identification strategies, followed by

effective interventions, help prevent further illicit drug use and delinquency. Drug testing can be

a constructive means of helping youth overcome denial of their substance abuse. As a part of

intervention, drug testing can be used to help youth achieve and maintain recovery and curtail

other deviant behaviors. Over time, effective drug identification will help juvenile justice

agencies achieve the goals of a balanced approach including community protection, youth

accountability, and competency development.

Therefore, awareness should be increased in the society in order to stop drug abuse before its too

late. Moreover, former drug addicts or people who are addicted must must not be left aside

because they are also human with feelings. By avoiding them it doesnt make any changes, it only

makes them feel left aside.
