Hypothesis:
Converting hot air to cool air can reduce the temperature inside a room
Methodology:
- Styrofoam
- Spray Paint
- Soldering Iron
- Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
- Ruler
- Scissors
B. Procedure:
Step 1: Prepare all the materials needed to create the prototype.
Step 2: Cut the bottles into half and make a hole in the styrofoam that fits perfectly in the small
Step 3: We only use 6 bottles and we cut the styrofoam into a rectangular shape
Step 4: Using a glue gun, apply glue into the opening hole of the bottle for it to be securely
Step 5: Create a box using a carton but it’s one side must have a hole that will fits to your arm
Step 6: After that, put it on the direct sunlight and get thermometer to measure the
Step 7: USE A FAN TO convert MORE AIR inside the box and then place your hand inside the box
Step 8: Finally, measure the temperature inside the box while testing the prototype.

We conducted our prototype testing in a warm afternoon. We did 2 trials to test if the
product is consistent and effective. As we can see in the first trial, we got 41.1 degrees celsius upon
measuring the heat inside the box. In this first try of testing we already saw the effectiveness of the
product as it decrease to 38.8 degrees celsius when we use a fan to convert the heat to cool air. 2.6
degrees celsius was lessen in the first try. In the second trial, we got 1 degree celsius mainly
because the air is not that strong to cool the warmth inside the box. (See fig 1. Below to better
Thermodynamics deals w
ith the transfer of energy from one place to another and from one
form to another. In connection with the eco cooler, thermal expansion is the reason behind the
The idea of eco cooler is that the air cools down while expanding. Eco cooler would work if
you put thermal exchanger between air compression and air expansion. So first you compress and
heat the air, then you cool it back to ambient temperature (out of the house) and then you expand
Eco Cooler converts hot air into cool air. Having said that, for it to be effective, it needs to
follow the process of effective thermal exchange through thermodynamics. The temperature can be
decreased in a maximum level of 5 degrees but varies depending on how much air will go inside the
rim. It is efficient and is actually designed for people with low budget. It is helpful in many ways, it
helps to conserve the environment and also provide relief to people especially during summer.
As we conduct our research in this social project, we recommend to try and test it on your
home if you’re interested and want to see if it will work. Our group tested it for our research
purposes and it actually worked. Aside from that, having further research regarding its scientific
basis will help you to better understand how it works. In creating the product, it is important to
follow the steps provided for it to be effective.
A. Suggestions for future research
● Thermodynamics plays an important role in the design of the social project thus, we suggest
● In making the prototype, it follows correct way of creating it because if it is not done
