Obesity Article

Eating at fast food restaurants has increased and is the one of the reasons to obesity. “This

study examined whether living or working near "fast food" restaurants is associated with body

weight.” (Fast Food and Obesity – The Cause and Effect Relationship by Melissa Darcey). Fast

food restaurants have caught our attention because of the increase in eating away from home.

Most people know that being overweight or obese is unhealthy, and if you eat too much

that contributes to being overweight. Telling people there’s a problem doesn’t solve it. “In recent

NAFTA negotiations, the Trump administration has proposed rules favored by major food

companies that would limit the ability of the United States, Mexico and Canada to require

prominent labels on packaged foods warning about the health risks of foods high in sugar and fat.”

Americans continue to get heavier, genetics, and most importantly, having a poor diet. This

goes along with children. What about the children? Children are now becoming obese or over

weight. “Four out of 10 children were at risk of being overweight.” Parents need to keep

themselves and their children healthy. Most children look up to their parents. It’s important for

parents to set a good example.
