Dear Hiring manager :

I am applying to the patient care technician position I have found on your website. I am a freshman at the
University of New Mexico and even though I am young I have experience throughout my junior and senior
year of high school. During high school I went through a clinical rotations program where I received my
CPR, First Aid and AED certification as well as my PCT license. I interned at a local hospital throughout the
time I was achieving my PCT license. I have experienced being a PCT on medical surgical floors, in the ICU
as well as the PCU. I have also had experience in the ER, pediatric wing, OR and the labs. I believe I have
had a lot of experience in what a patient care technician does from day to day and I am prepared for that
hard work.

Along with my experience as a PCT I am also 2018 district and state champion (of Texas) in practical
nursing through a competition called Skills USA. I went to nationals and received 4th place. This goes to
show that not only do I have the experience of a hospital setting but I have the knowledge and skills to
support my experience.

I believe that having a good character is very important in addition to my knowledge and skills because
without the good character patients aren’t going to trust you. I would like you to know that I have won
multiple citizenship awards throughout my years including student citizenship award, the empathy
award and many more. I trust that I have good bedside manner and would be a good fit for this position. I
love helping people and consider it to be my greatest attribute. I am also a hard worker and am very
reliable so you can put your trust in me to do as you ask.

I am studying at the University of New Mexico double majoring in biochemistry and psychology. My goal
is to one day become a pediatric orthopedic surgeon so this job will be a great opportunity for me. I
believe it will be a great opportunity because it will give me practice for patient care and give me more
experience in the hospital. I sincerely appreciate being considered as a candidate for this position and
hope to be meeting you soon!

I am looking for a job while I am home in Texas for the summer. I also wanted to note that my license is
scheduled to expire in May of this year, but I do plan on renewing it!
