Assignment Title: Macbeth’s Downfall

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to end the semester with an A and improve on my essays. I want to have
minimal grammar mistakes and improve with writing an introduction.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of writing this assignment was to describe what cause Macbeth downfall. We were supposed to
find examples in the play for what caused Macbeth downfall. I wrote about Lady Macbeth being the reason
for his evil acts.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I performed well in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric I received an 85 out of 100. I had a
couple of grammar mistakes which is why I didn’t get a higher grade. But I had good quotes and examples to
prove that Lady Macbeth is the reason for his downfall. My conclusion wasn’t also long enough so I added
more to it.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think I did well picking quotes to support my claims. For an example to describe Macbeth weakness I used
the quote “We fail? But screw your courage to the sticking place and we’ll not fail” (Shakespeare.1.7.59-61).
This is a good quote because Lady Macbeth pressures Macbeth to follow the plan. I also did well with my
introduction and keeping my paragraphs short.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I choose to revise this writing assignment because I had to fix grammar mistakes. And shorten a quote
because it was too long. I got rid of contractions for an example the word “wouldn’t” I changed it to “Would
not”. Also I had to add more information to my conclusion because it was too short.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
In my next assignment I will not use contractions I will do this by going over my writing multiple times. Also
I won’t use long quotes and have long paragraphs. I will do this by only having the important information for
my quotes.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I successfully achieved my previously goal I said I would have a good grade for first semester and I
accomplished it.
