The document discusses simulation and stability analysis of an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) by modifying the transfer function with a rate feedback controller and PID controller. It presents SIMULINK models of a power system stabilizer and PID controller. Plots show the output signal response for different PID parameter values. The conclusion is that while the rate feedback controller modified results from a previous lab, the PID controller provides more appropriate results by better controlling settling time, overshoot, steady state error, and divergence to meet requirements, with the signal settling exactly at 1.

Simulation and Stability Analysis of AVR by modifying Transfer function
with rate feedback controller (stabilizer) & PID Controller
Theory:
Power System Stabilizer
Power system stabilizers are generator control equipment which are used in feedback to enhance the damping of rotor oscillation caused due to small signal disturbance. The disturbance may be caused by the even small change in the reference voltage of AVR/exciter which results in ever increasing rotor oscillations.
SIMULINK Model
KF=1, TF=0.01
PID Controller SIMULINK Model Plots
Kp=1, Kd=0.15, KI=0.2
Kp=1, Kd=0.2, KI=0.25
Kp=1, Kd=0.28, KI=0.25
Conclusion: We observed that results from lab11 have been modified by using rate feedback controller. But PID gives more appropriate results as settling time; overshoot, steady state error and divergence all are controlled according to our requirement. And signal settles exactly at 1.
Star Delta Starter Circuit Comes in Circuit First During Starting of Motor, Which Reduces Voltage 3 Times, That Is Why Current Also Reduces Up To 3 Times and Hence Less Motor Burning Is Caused
