given current observations. If the mean within each category is ranked at 2 or below, please complete a Referral Form, review with the
Candidate, and create a plan to improve this attribute.

**Regardless of academic performance, a candidate’s disposition on this rubric may affect his or her academic standing (refer to course
syllabi).
Respect 1 2 3 4 5 N/A
*(CF-Committed, Responsive/InTASC 9)
 is considerate of others
 values diversity
 demonstrates inclusive attitudes and behaviors
Comments:

I gave myself a 4 for respect because I am very considerate to others, I try to keep my own distance when someone is trying to have a conversation
with somebody else, and I also respect other’s decisions and beliefs. I also value diversity in many ways because I feel as though some people need to
understand that some people are different, but we are all the same person. I also believe that I demonstrate inclusive attitudes and behaviors well
because I am an easy-going person and I always try to show that I am in a good mood even if I am not. I try my hardest to show that I have a great
attitude. I also demonstrate inclusive behaviors because I am always in a good mindset so I am always trying to pay attention in class, and I am
behaving the way a new upcoming teacher should.

Responsibility 1 2 3 4 5 N/A
*(CF-Committed/InTASC 9, 10)
 engages in socially appropriate behaviors
 is reliable and trustworthy
 accepts consequences for personal actions or decisions
 prepares for classes/meetings/group work/instruction
 demonstrates professional ethical behavior
 maintains confidentiality of students/colleagues
 attends class regularly and is on time
Comments:

I gave myself a 4 for responsibility as well because I feel as though I meet all of these points very well, but sometimes I can get off task. I always
engage in socially appropriate behaviors because I want to set an example for other students, and at my high school I would do this so I would set an
example for the younger kids in the school. I try to make sure that I am always reliable so that way people know that if they need something, I will be
available, and they can trust me. I also accept consequences for personal actions/decisions, but sometimes I wonder and ask if the consequence could
either be lessened or not at all. I may get into more trouble asking it, or they may agree with me and lessen the consequence. I prepare for classes by
charging my computer, having my homework finished and turned into D2L, I also make sure my notebook is in my backpack so I can take notes during
class, and I also get a good night of sleep so I am ready to pay attention in the class. I also attend class regularly and on time because my classes are
a privilege to go to and I want to be able to make sure that I am there and doing good in the class. I attend class regularly because I want to be able to
pass my classes and continue my education so I can become the teacher that I want to be.

Flexibility 1 2 3 4 5 N/A
*(CF-Responsive/InTASC 2, 7)
 adapts to change
 is open to new ideas and opinions
 deals appropriately with less than ideal situations when necessary
 maintains a positive attitude when necessary changes occur
Comments:

I gave myself a 3 for flexibility because some of the points I struggle with. I can adapt to change, but it may take me a while to adapt to it. For example,
when I moved into the dorms, I began adapting but it was hard for me to understand that I’m not at home anymore and that this is my new home. I am
open to new ideas and opinions because I don’t want to be doing the same thing all of the time. I want to be able to widen my horizons so I can learn
more things and be able to understand more things. Sometimes I struggle with dealing appropriately with less than ideal situations when necessary
because sometimes I want to be able to figure out what is going to happen or what is going to pan out of the situation. But I maintain a positive attitude
when necessary changes occur because I want to be able to show that I am capable of adapting to the change and I am not bitter or hurt about it. I
want to keep a positive and professional face about the change.

Collaboration 1 2 3 4 5 N/A
*(CF-Collaborative/InTASC 1, 2,3, 4, 5,)
 supports teamwork
 shares knowledge and responsibilities with others
 accepts and responds appropriately to feedback from others
Comments:

I gave myself a 3 for collaboration because sometimes I enjoy working by myself instead of working with others. I do support teamwork because
sometimes when you are going through a problem you may need to have a team to figure it out instead of just by yourself. I struggle with sharing
knowledge and responsibilities with others because often I want to do it by myself so that way, I know that the things are finished and turned in. I want
to have full responsibility of things sometimes because having somebody else be in control of it sometimes scares me. I do accept and respond
appropriately when I am given feedback because I want to be able to do better and I want to make sure I can do better. I accept feedback because
when I was in high school, I was on the dance team, and in order to get better you had to take the feedback the team is giving you and work on it so
you can become better. You cannot take feedback and do absolutely nothing with it.

Reflection 1 2 3 4 5 N/A
*(CF-Responsive, Innovative/InTASC 6, 7, 8)
 self-assesses knowledge/performance using higher order thinking
 demonstrates accurate self-analysis regarding own strengths and weaknesses
 accepts/uses constructive feedback
 assesses situations using multiple perspectives
Professional Development 1 2 3 4 5 N/A
*(CF-Committed/InTASC 9, 10)
 engages in professional development activities
 is committed to the profession
 models and promotes life-long learning
 has enthusiasm for one's discipline(s) and values the process of learning
 demonstrates a belief that all students can learn
 demonstrates a belief that teachers can influence learning
Comments:

I gave myself a 4 for professional development because some of the bullet points are what I can do. I engage in professional developmental activities
by going to work at a daycare and helping the children in the toddler and preschool room learn different things. I am committed to the profession
because I love watching children learn and try to figure things out for themselves. I also love learning new things myself so I feel as though when I am
teaching I am not only teaching the students, I am learning new things as well. I model and promote life-long learning because I love learning now and I
loved learning when I was a child. I want to share that with younger students so that way maybe they will want to keep learning new things like me
when they are older. I also demonstrate a belief that all students can learn. I believe that all children can and have the ability to learn, I want them to be
able to learn new things. I also demonstrate a belief that teachers can influence learning because when I was super young I had a teacher that loved to
learn and shared her love of learning with the class and I feel as though that made me love learning as well, so I want to be able to influence my
students to love learning almost, or as much as I do.

Effective Communication & Social Awareness 1 2 3 4 5 N/A

*(CF-Responsive, Collaborative, Committed/InTASC 1, 2, 3, 9, 10)
 uses the English language effectively and appropriately
 is able to assess social/professional situations
 displays an understanding of non-verbal communication
 acts in socially appropriate and professional ways
 demonstrates effective listening skills
 maintains positive relationships with others (i.e. colleagues, peers, parents, students)
 demonstrates an awareness of how personal appearance and grooming habits can influence teacher effectiveness and dresses appropriately for
given contexts
Comments:

I gave myself a 4 in the effective communication and social awareness attribute. I am able to use the English language effectively and appropriately
because English is my first language. I am able to assess social/professional situations. I display an understanding of non-verbal communication
because I understand body language and different hand gestures if someone is having trouble speaking or does not want to speak. I act in a socially
appropriate and professional way. I try to keep myself as professional as possible when I am in class and around campus because I don’t want to be
the student that everyone knows as unprofessional and socially awkward, I try to maintain eye contact if I am talking and I want to say hello if I see
somebody I know. I demonstrate effective listening skills by paying attention in class so I can pass my class and I take notes so I can study later. I
maintain a positive relationship with others because I want to be able to have these relationships so I can go on in life having some people that support
me and understand me. I always try to make sure that I look decent and am showered before I go to class so I don’t look sloppy. If you are a teacher
and look sloppy, you are going to look unprofessional.

Reflection comments: I gave myself a 3 in the reflection attribute because some of the bullet points are harder for me. I struggle with assessing
situations using multiple perspectives because I usually only think one way and think that that is the only way somebody would think. I accept and
use constructive feedback so that way I can become a better teacher and person. I try to use self-analysis regarding my own strengths and
weaknesses, but I am not really sure what my strengths are and what my weaknesses are.
