1 Introduction

Point of sale (POS) is computer software that is typically used manage the sales in retail store. It consists
of hardware components e.g. Computer system, Barcode Scanner, Printer to generate slip of bill and also
manage to store the history of transactions and other more.

1.1 Purpose

The software Product to be produced is a point of sale system which automates the sales system by using
(POS) cashier can easily calculates the amount of product rather than using traditional way. Point of sales
system (POS) basic purpose is to handle the sales.

1.2 Scope

Point of sales is very easy to understand system which is used for many reasons except sales handle,
He/she can enter data, store that data for future use.

POS used in many departments which are

1- For sales handling at Grocery Store.

2- For salary Computation and other purpose in College /University.
3- Used as Hospital Management (Salary computation and patient fees or record of patients)
4- Used in Pharmacies
5- Used in Restaurant as (Restaurant Management System)

Here explain about What type of Hardware Product use, What type of interface it will and what will its
functional and Non-functional requirements are.

2.1 Hardware Require

Point of Sale system Software is installed on a PC’s. And it requires Key Board for input, Barcode Scanner
for input, printer for output as receipt.

2.2 Software Interface

Point of Sale system Software have user friendly interface in which every person who is not too much
educated can easily understand its Modules.

3 Stakeholders

How many Types of user can interact with Point of Sale system software.

3.1 Users

 Cashier at POS.
 Supervisor, inspector.
 Customer at POS.

3.2 Administrator

 POS application administrator (IT manager at any Place).

 Developer of App.
 Data entry Operator (DEO have rights just to view and Add new Items).

3.3 Buyer

 CEO and/CTO of the any Company.

4 Functional Requirements

 User can Sign Up and Create Account.

1- Cashier.
2- Admin.
3- Buyer (CEO/CTO).
 Cashier can just Perform the transactions by the side of customer.
1- He can calculate.
2- He can store that record.
 DEO can perform such types of transaction

 Admin can perform the following tasks.
1- He can create logins (Cashier, DEO).
2- He can delete Logins.
3- View Login details.
4- He can delete Inventory.
5- He can delete the record.
6- He can Add new inventory.
7- He can search inventory.
8- He can view inventory.
9- He can Update inventory.
10- He can store the record.
11- He can view the record.

At the meantime POS fails and its availability and there might be Failure Occur at any time.

5.4 Robustness
After the failure when PC restart there might be probability that cause the corruption of Data.

It recommends the limit that a Pc can install this POS software who meet the requirements of the system.
