Xiamen University founded in 1921. Xiamen University is one of the primary institute of Medicine in
China. Xiamen University is located in Xiamen, Fujian. Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is one of east
China’s main air hubs with flights to over 60 domestic and international destinations.

Xiamen University is located in Siming District on the island of Xiamen, which is just north of Taiwan and

three on the mainland. Xiamen, known as Amoy in Hokkien dialect, is a major deepwater port, whose
ships come and go around the world. The city was one of the first Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in China,
but rapid economic development has not damaged its environment. Throughout the city its inhabitants
and leaders are aware of the necessity of environmental protection and so Xiamen can boast of splendid
scenery and clean air.

Xiamen has a monsoonal humid subtropical climate, characterized by long, hot

and humid summers and short, mild and dry winters. The annual average
temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius .A city which was a cultural, political
and economic center in south China and is currently sub provincial city in Fujian
Province. Xiamen University has a robust faculty team of 1230 registered faculty
members, including 107 full professors, 165 associate professors, and 145
supervisors of doctoral programs and 412 supervisors of master's programs.
Xiamen University has one laboratory at ministry level, Second laboratories co-
established by the ministry and provincial government, 7 provincial key
laboratories and research centers .Xiamen University has launched an extensive
exchange and cooperation with national and international higher institutions.
Xiamen University has established bilateral and academic relationship with
medical schools and scientific research institutions in USA, Canada, Britain,
Germany, Japan, France and Australia. Some reputable experts and scholars are
conferred Xiamen Medical University honorary or guest professorship.
Meanwhile, Xiamen University has regularly sent teachers abroad for long-term
study or short-term visits. Since 2006, Xiamen University has resumed enrollment
of international students and students from USA, India, Australia, Russia, and
European Country. At present, the total number of international in Xiamen
University is over 1223.
