Introduction

E-Stop Internet Café is the first thing that popped in my head. While I was looking around
the different Internet cafés, the first thing I (and of course, anyone and everyone included) have
seen in front of the cafés are the signs with their names on it. There are names like “localhost”,
“digitizer”, “4th box”, etc. When I went home to ponder and discern what name my “Internet café”
would have, I thought, “So far, all the names I have seen are related in one way or another to
technology”. Then, I thought, “The goal of my internet café is to provide computer-related services
while providing a feeling of bliss”. The goal was inspired by a place called “The Space”, it seems
to be a place where you can work on something in which you need internet, electric supply, free
tea and coffee and so on. So I thought it would be the place that I could spend my unlimited time,
if only it is not far from home and if I have… unlimited pocket money. That is when the name “E-
Stop Internet Café” came in. It would be a place where you and your friends could enjoy playing
games or do your projects, assignments or just simply to hangout.

According to http://blog.nus.edu.sg, An Internet Cafe is a place where people can get

access to the Internet for a small fee, although it is also a regular cafe which serves food and drink.
It’s hard to deny that internet becomes widespread, thanks to Internet Cafe. Instead of spending a
large amount of money on a computer and subscribing to internet service, users can pay a relatively
small fee for an hour or more of internet access. When a student wants to do a research, and the
library doesn’t provide enough information, he can search on the internet. Assume that he doesn’t
own a computer, this problem is still solved easily by Internet Cafes. Additionally, it also serves
as a substitute. For instance, a man having an urgent need of using the internet finds that his
computer is broken, where does he go to? Again, the Internet Cafe. It is easy to see that Internet
Cafe is great, as long as it is used with good intentions.

This Internet café has a small size unit that will operate and will offer an internet services.
It has 10 PC units available and 1 PC Unit server. Our computers are equipped with head set for
Gaming and audio chatting. We will also provide tables, chairs and the internet for customers. If
they have their own electrical devices to be used, they can do so too. E-Stop Internet Café will be
located at Pison Avenue, Mandurriao near Ateneo de Iloilo.

This space is accessible to all students of Ateneo de Iloilo and the nearby neighborhood
population will become an important part of the E-Stop Internet Café because we can offer services
like PC Rental for ₱15 per hour, Printing/Photo copying/Scanning, WiFi Rental, Gaming, Typing
and Downloads. For gaming we will install popular online games like Dota/Dota2, Player
Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Fortnite, Apex Legends. League of Legends, Cross fire, Counter strike,
NBA2K19, GTAV and etc. In typing, I will install Operating System of MS Office Professional
2013 like MS Word, Excel, Power point, Access, Desktop Publishing.

Financial Income

Income per hour for PC Rental

₱ 15 per hr. * 5 units = ₱75

Income in a day for PC Rental

₱ 15 per hr. * 5 units = ₱75 * 16 hours = ₱1,200

Income in a month for PC Rental:

₱1,200 * 30 days = ₱36,000

Others (Printing, Scanning, Wifi Rental):

₱ 450

Income in a day for PC Rental + others = Overall income in a day

₱1,200 + ₱ 450 = ₱ 1,650

Overall income in a day x 30 days = Monthly Income

₱1,650 * 30 = ₱49,500

Net Income Monthly = Gross Income – Monthly Expenses

= ₱49,500 – ₱31,800

Monthly Net Income = ₱17,700

Yearly Net Income = Monthly Net Income * 12 = (₱17,700 * 12)

= Product of Monthly Net Income multiplied by 12 – Yearly Expenses
= (₱212,400 - ₱3,000)

12
ROI = Net income over investment
= (₱209,400/₱350,000) * 100 = 59.83%

Conclusion

During the creation of the proposed “internet café” project, there were a lot trials I have
faced because budget constraint and the realism needed to be applied to the project. I had to search
and verify the prices of my materials, place to rented and other important expenses like the
certifications and permits. The brands and pictures, of course, are needed to be shown for the
purpose for reference of those who might pick up this proposed “internet café” project. Overall, I
can say that it had enlightened me in a sense in which I became aware of the difficulty of starting
a business in our present times and, in the same time, I became aware of the challenges being
tackled in a business. Factors like customers’ tastes and comfort, employee and employer expertise
upon the I.T. related services. Despite those difficulties, I enjoyed it all. Why? I was able to create
my very own internet café. Who knows? One day, if I ever am interested in making my hit in
business with my skills by this proposed internet café project, I may make this project be realized
(but, at that time, I have to update my prices, specs, etc.).
