1 Executive Summary
1.1 Business Description
Think n Act is an edu-tech company with an online learning platform that gives people specifically
Africans the opportunity to learn anything online peculiar to Africa that would educate them on
whatsoever they wish to learn by selecting from a wide range of instructors on the platform.

1.2 History and Current Status

The idea of building an online platform came about when I got frustrated with what I was learning
in school so I sought to seek my passion but I didn’t know the list of other skills, courses or
profession to pick and when I found one, I was limited by both the distance and cost in learning.
After several researches, I discovered there were millions of Africans faced with this same
limitation so I decided to create an online platform to learn anything.

1.3 Goals and Objectivesss

In the future, we hope to have offline platforms where there would be advanced forms of testing
those who want to get advanced certification from us.
We hope to boost Africa’s economy by revolutionizing education.

2. Opportunity
2.1 Problem:
According to statistics from African Renewal Online magazine, youths make up to 60% of
Africa’s joblessness. The president of Coca-Cola, Central, East and West Africa, Kelvin Balogun
also said that almost half of the 10 million graduates churned out of the over 668 universities in
Africa do not get jobs. This is different from the set of graduates who belong to the category of
under-employed, drop-outs and those who didn’t go through the university.
Unemployment in Africa is highly caused by the defective educational system which does
not correspond to the economic realities prevailing outside the school system. Now that we have
over 400 million Africans who are unemployed, we had to mae our research and identified the
problems which are:
 Higher number of people do not have access to the right education and skills which are
relevant to the labour market of this century.

 A lot of youths and even adults do not know what to do in life after school despite the fact
that some spent years studying different courses.

 A lot of them didn’t get to learn courses they had passion for and the curriculum didn’t
give them a precise direction leading to their profession.

 Some do not have the financial capability to undergo a university education due to its cost
which seems to be the most secured way to get job despite the mess.

 They do not have quality information and resources needed to equip them for the labour
market.

 They do not have access to learn from professionals and experienced tutors who are active
on the field on different areas of learning.

 The fact that the required skills and labour knowledge are not contained in the curriculum
due to the fact that it is not updated e.g the most needed skills in this century are not yet in
the curriculum.

 Mass learning is not convenient as different people all over Africa would be more efficient
if they learnt at their own pace.
The summary of the basic cause of the problem of unemployment which is due to the defective
educational systems is the problem of WHAT TO LEARN THAT WOULD EQUIP THEM, WHO
TO LEARN FROM THAT WOULD DELIVER THE BEST QUALITY, WHERE TO LEARN
FROM, HOW TO LEARN, FINANCIAL CAPABLILITY TO LEARN and WHERE TO GET
THE JOBS BASED ON THEIR SKILLS.

2.2 Mission
Think n Act mission is to create an online platform that gives Africans the opportunity to
learn anything online that would educate them and equip them for the current African labour
market. This platform would involve instructors on any topic or knowledge in which students can
come online to learn from a wide range of courses they want.

2.3 Our Solution

Having figured out the gap between the real world and the school system and also the
unavailability of a link or source where information can be gotten for that would create room for
updating, we decided to create an online platform.
On this platform, professionals from different fields and anyone who has any relevant skill or
knowledge to share would upload it in form of video courses which anyone who wants to learn
would have access to.
What this online platform would solve is that Africans (students on the platform) would:
 Would be able to learn anything to be able to meet up with the labour market.

 The online platform would contain various skills and courses which would give students
the knowledge of relevant skills and not be confused about what to do in life.

 It helps to them pick specialized courses in line with their fields or passion.

 A lot of time would be saved as only the required courses would be learnt which is goal
focused.

 Cheaper rate of learning than the conventional expensive university fee.

 Convenience to learn at their own pace and time which would solve the barrier of location
and other fees such as accommodation, transportation etc.

 Access to quality courses from professionals or experts in the field and the choice to choose
any of choice.it gives opportunity to relate with the instructors and interact with other
students taking similar courses.
 Would have the option of securing jobs through our job finder tactics.

 Easy access to the information at any time as you would have it stored on cloud.
Benefits to Instructors
 Access to teach a lot of students at the same time online thereby breaking the distance
barrier.
 More profits as they would have access to more students since it is online.

 It would push them to keep dishing out quality contents to have lots of students.

 Teaching convenience as this their courses can be taught anyway depending on the type of
skills.

2.4 Target Market

From statistics by digital trends, we have over 1.2 billion people in Africa and we have
over 400 million internet users as at December 2017. We actually plan to start from Nigeria before
we reach out to other African countries.
In Nigeria, we have over 100 million of internet users between 18 and 41 years of age. Out of this
percentage, we have a higher percentage, 60% to be youths. Nigeria has over 500, 000 youths are
graduating every year and half of them are actually unemployed which would make this platform
useful for them due to their search for what would qualify them.
Our target market (AFRICA) includes:
Undergraduates
Graduates
Professionals who want to hone their skills
Drop outs or those who didn’t go through school
Teenagers
Advanced students
Anyone who has a mobile device that is connected to the internet.

2.5 Competition
We have some competitors which do not really pose a big threat. Udemy, Skillshare, Cousera are
also online platforms where people come to learn skills but they have a very low penetration in
Africa owing to the fact that they are not within Africa.
Our major competitor is Udemy due to their fast rising brand popularity and the wide range of
courses. Yet there are still hundreds of courses that are peculiar and very relevant to Africa that
they do not teach.

2.5.1 Swot Analysis

Strength: one of our key strength is that we would have courses that would be learned at a cheaper
rates than most of their courses.
We also have the strength of peculiarity of courses owing to the fact that majority of the instructors
would be within Africa, hence what would be taught are skills very peculiar to Africa which would
also be up to world’s standard.
Importance to customers would be another key strength owing to the fact that our platform would
be more sought out for.
Weakness: poor internet both needed for the instructors to upload their video courses and also by
students to watch them. This problem would not be so significant because despite this issue we
still have over 90 million internet users between age 18 – 44 and we have over 14 million active
monthly users on Instagram and Facebook just in Nigeria so we hope to get our first set of
instructors and students from these numbers.
From digital trend statistics, an average Nigerian spends over 3 hours on mobile device daily. By
2020, the cost of internet would have reduced and more mobile devices would be cheaper so this
is not a significant weakness.
Threat: Udemy seems to be a threat on advanced courses level such as AI, machine learning but
we have more courses relevant to Africa than them and they have low penetration in Africa so the
threat seem to be little.
Their brand name and financial stand poses a threat to us as well.
Opportunities: we have a large number of people (Africans “18 – 35 years of age) desperate to
learn to stay relevant and we are offering the solution at a way lesser rate than those other courses.

3. Execution
3.1 Marketing & Sales

3.11 Marketing Plan

Our first target markets are the university students and recent graduates in Nigeria. We have over
100 million internet users between the ages of 18 and 44. Over 20 million use Facebook, 5.8
million use twitter and Instagram and Youtube have 7 million users each. All of the above are
active monthly users of those platforms.
Nigeria has over 20 million smartphone users. We wish to penetrate and focus on the first set of
people that are ready to learn and have access to the internet as well as with smartphones and IOS.
The total market size is 20 million people.
Due to the pressure laid on university graduates to acquire skills, we would be able to capture 30%
of the market in 2 years which is roughly 600,000 on our platform on an average.
We would partner with educational bodies, government and influencers.
For us to reach the masses, we would hold consistent events around school which would enlighten
them about the real world to the end that they would see the need to add value to themselves by
learning through the platform.
We would begin by creating a brand trust and self-development training in Futa (Federal
University of Technology, Akure) to build trust to over 2000 students.
We would from there begin to penetrate the hearts of campuses thereby building trust in their
minds as much as we promote self-development.
We would also partner with universities to create awareness for their students to give a number of
them chances to build themselves.
We would also use social media. Since our first set of target audience falls between age 18 – 41,
we have higher chances of reaching them via Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.
We would do this by:
1. Creating video contents on solutions to many questions students ask as to what to do, how
to do etc.
2. Writing articles and creating contents on how to be self-developed to meet the labour force
We would partner with some organizations such as NYSC body and offering them the platform to
help NYSC candidates learn within the shortest time.
We would also partner with some set of companies like SHELL who would need some set of skills
from students to make use of the platform.
We would also use influencers and the instructors as well who would draw in more students to
take their courses.
Through emailing by reaching campuses to request for the emails of their recently graduated
students.
3.12 Sales Plan
Our website would the platform to deliver the service to the students.
About partnering with schools and instructors, we would reach out to top professionals in different
fields across the country to offer them a chance to have their course on the platform, then giving
them the breakdown of what they stand to gain.
Based on the courses available, we would categorize the courses into where they fit. Instructors
would have an instructor’s guide on how they can use the platform.
The instructors would follow the guide, then create the video courses and upload on the platform.
We would give the guidelines as well on how they can get students for their courses and if anyone
of the instructors wants us to get students for them, there would be a charge for it.
We are aware that internet issue may seem to be problem. Our goal for the first 6 months is to
target the 14 million active users on Instagram and Youtube believe it is video consumption and
that is exactly what we need.
We would have a 24/7 emailing service where complaints, questions and requests can be executed
on.

3.2 Pricing
Instructors would not be charged for uploading their courses to our platform.
However, for every sale made, we would get 25% per course sold. The price of the course may
vary from #3000 to #35,000.
The instructors would be charged extra at 2% for every click that comes through our advertising
and results in the purchase of a course.
We would also have a charge for every student who wants to get a job offer directly through us
from other job offering platforms based on their courses taken per time.

3.3 Operations
We would have members of the team based on the skills needed. The website building and mobile
app development would be outsourced to a software company and managed by the company for a
year.
We would require these skills at start.
Marketing
Branding
Social media management
Financial manager
Since our email service would be round the clock because we hope to be able respond to anyone
who has anything to address owing to the different learning duration.
