Assignment Title: Anglo-Saxon values in Beowulf

Student Writing Goal: My goal for this essay was to not use repetition and actually make sense. I love the story of
Beowulf but I felt like trying to explain their beliefs would be difficult.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of the assignment was to teach us about the different values they had in Bewoulf. Especially the
difference the Anglo-Saxon values back then compared to the ones we have now. The story of Beowulf
explained how they honored different values.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I did pretty good not great. I forgot a title which I should know it is an important thing for MLA format. I
should have known better. You would think that after four years of writing essay’s I would get the hang of it
but I still forget a few things in that format which is bad.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I believe I did good in the explanations I chose in order to describe my quotes.(Beowulf 726-727). By Wiglaf
staying along-side of his King in his time of need demonstrates loyalty. Beowulf risked his life for his
kingdom and defended all his men and when it was time to return the favor only one person stay

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I have revised now. I didn’t have that many mistakes. Just a few simply mistakes as always. I got the same
score. I want aim for a higher score next essay. I corrected all of my mistakes. I don’t understand how I
could’ve forgotten the works cited.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
I will put commas more often because that is my most common mistake in all of my essays. Also I need to
find better words. Perhaps I will use a thesaurus.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I literally did the same thing I did in my social issue essay except I forgot a title for my Beowulf essay. Also
I forgot the works cited. I need to focus more to prevent mistakes like that. Hopefully I do get a better score
in the future.
