Title: Petrosains
Introduction
With the progress of times and technologies, Tourism Malaysia is planning to promote Kuala
Lumpur by implementing mobile application promotion through interactive walkthrough
applications. Tourism Malaysia had offered 14 tourist areas for the research. Among the given
areas, the final area that has been chosen is Petrosains which located in Kuala Lumpur
Convention Centre. The reason why it has been chosen is because the facilities that it having
are modern and attached with educational which will not only benefits the economy of
Malaysia but as well as the tourists knowledge regarding to science.

Therefore, in order to boost the economy and helps the tourist has a better understanding on
science, an interactive walkthrough application/prototype of Petrosains will be developed. It
should help the user to know and navigate to the destination within the Petrosains, have a
clearer view of the place layout, the latest news of Petrosains such as which facility is under
maintenances or which area is not available currently. On the other hand, they are also allow
to get the information of the upcoming events and activities, provide feedback and suggestion
through few clicks in the application itself. Not to mention that the users also able to contact
the employees of the Petrosains if they faced problems like lost or emergency incidents.

Problem Statement
• Lack of acknowledgement from public
• Lack of information to navigate to and around the petrosains
• Lack of broadcast channel for informing the latest organised event and activities
• Lack of content related to the visitor participation in each organised event and activities
Objectives
• To provide support and guidance for visitors in navigating themselves to and at the
destination
• To keep user updated with the latest events and activities taking places at petrosains
• To promote the existence of petrosains to the public
• To include user involvement on the organised event and activities through discussion
and content uploading
Solution
• Develop a mobile application that can promote the tourism for the petrosains and
provides the functionalities and features according to the desire and needs of the user.
 The application can use for booking the entry ticket for petrosains which able saving
the customer time because physical purchasing ticket are very time consuming and
includes long queues that are totally outdated nowadays. The application also can give
the visitors the complete list in the petrosains infrastructure which includes the
information about the area with better experience. Then the application also include the
social sharing features which allow tourists and local community share their experience
and content such as photos or video through the mobile application by promoting the
tourism of the petrosains.
