8.1 Do you have any suggestions to make educational tour better next time?

ORQUIN:
In civil engineering, we have a total of 98 students who were officially gone to the tour in
Cebu and is divided into 2 buses, making it 49 students each bus. In the actual tour, we
have encountered problems such as: miscommunication and misunderstanding in the
part of the speakers (representative of each company) and the students (listeners), and
only few questions of the students are being entertained and not all students have raised
questions because of too many students. So, to make educational tour better next time,
I suggest that instead of dividing into 2, they should divide it into 3, making it 30 to 35
students per bus. By this, they can cater all questions of every students and therefore can
gain more knowledge in the tour.

DOTE:
The main problem that I noticed during the tour is the time visit duration. My suggestion
is that, why don’t we give more time of a lot of time if possible on the company visit. To
make that happen, we have to limit our visit in just 2 or 3 companies each day. But since
we only have 3 days of educational tour, if possible, why don’t we add even just 1 day of
tour to maximize the visiting time.

8.2 What might be done differently to make this event better experience next time?

DOTE:
To make it better experience in the future educational tour, all students must have an
eagerness to learn in every company that they have to visit, maximizing the time visit for
more knowledge the students might learn.

ORQUIN:
If there are things to be done differently to make the tour even better experience in the
future, I think there should have an open forum at the end of every day of the tour where
the students and instructors/faculty give and take information from one another. They
can summarize the things that they have learned and share it to others. Through this, they
can all resolve misinterpretations and the students who did not really understand certain
topics, other students who understand can share his/her knowledge about the topic and
everyone can attain same knowledge during the educational tour.

8.3 Do you have additional observations or comments?

ORQUIN:
I observed that there are huge differences between Cebu and Calbayog in terms of many
aspects such as their infrastructures and transportation systems which gives great
benefit to people in their daily needs. Calbayog City still needs to improve more to
become as improved as Cebu City. Also, Civil engineering students have high chance of
employment in Cebu after they graduate because there are many new infrastructures
that needs to build.

DOTE:
I observed that the preparation of lunch is far from the next company visit. Therefore, to
maximize the time of visiting, the lunch should be prepared at the nearest restaurant
from the company.

ORQUIN:
Additionally, the hotel that they have chosen for our stay in the duration of the tour and
their services is very satisfying. I learned many trivial facts about the history of Cebu City
and its big contribution in the Philippine history, thanks to our tour guides who constantly
gives us information during the tour.
