Use technology to its fullest potential
Why use technology to Why not use technology

results?

● Technology can help students dig deeper into concepts and

gain a better understanding than a textbook can.
● Technology can be used to personalize learning
experiences.
● Technology can give students real life experiences they
wouldn’t be able to have otherwise.

What is the SAMR
Model?
SAMR is a model designed to
help teachers incorporate
technology into their
teaching (Kihoza,
Zlotnikova, Bada, &
Kalegele, 2016).
Why should we use the SAMR model?
It is important when using
technology in the classroom
we are always trying to not
only enhance learning, but
transform it. This model is a
great reminder of how we are
going to gain that deeper
level thinking from our
students from using
technology (Kihoza,
Zlotnikova, Bada, & Kalegele,
2016).
This chart shows great examples of each step in the SAMR Model
What is the tpack
model?
TPACK stands for
Technology, Pedagogy,
and Content Knowledge
(Kihoza, Zlotnikova,
Bada, & Kalegele,
2016). TPACK wants you
to first look at the
pedagogy and content
knowledge, then add in
the technology.
Why use the
TPACK model?
TPACK is not just
having an
understanding of
the three types of
knowledge, but
rather how to
combine all three
to enhance student
learning (Kihoza,
Zlotnikova, Bada, &
Kalegele, 2016).
