REFLECTION:
On March 24, I presented a science lesson for 27 KG2 students in the class room at
Alnaseem School. The main focus was to help students compare and describe the 5 senses.

In the lesson starter, the students sang the morning song and 5 senses song because the
students always start their morning with those song. The students were engaged and were
excited to take part because they were familiar with the song and confident that they could
sing. After that I ask the students about what they have yesterday and what we will take
about today.

Next, I wanted to check what students know about the 5 senses. I use a popcorn machine
for the starting of the lesson and I inform the learners step by step what I will do. I pose
questions to the learners and I carrying out the experience such as: What do you think will
happen? (I use prediction keys). I guide the learners into using their senses and explaining
what they discover.
. I repeated this many time. I found out that all the students know the 5 senses. The
students were confident to give answers and shouted out the answer. I the future, I will
change how they give the answers. I would like students to write the answers on a small
whiteboard and then hold the whiteboard up. This will help me know who knows the
answers and who does not, instead of always hearing from the students who know.

After that, I sent the students to the centers by calling their names. This was organized. For
this lesson, I made 4 centers. The first center was about discover the 5 senses. I Show the
student different food and they will taste. I will put flower and perfume to smell also,
different object to help them to discover the 5 senses and I will ask them about the object
and how they know about it. The second activity I connect Art with math and it’s was about
describe the 5 senses and their corresponding body part and the student will have
worksheet and they will stick the word on the body about the 5 senses and they will color it.
The third activity also about describe the 5 senses, each student will have a card with
different subject and they will sort the senses with use the clothes peg clipart.in the writing
centre, each student will have worksheet and they will write a sentence such as: I can see
with my eyes, I can smell with my nose. I can taste with my tongue, I can hear with my ears
and I can touch with my hands. In the last activity I connect math with science, each student
will have a worksheet about the 5 senses and they will count the senses.

For Closing activity Students will share what they have done in the centre and they will
explain what they do.

In the next lesson I will ask students more question to see if they understand.
