RAW MATERIAL

The major inputs like pig iron, cast iron, sponge iron are manufactured at the most modern composite iron and steel
plant of Electrotherm situated in the same campus as the plant for manufacture of DI Pipes. The composite iron and

INDUCTION FURNACE

Melting done from solid charge for hot metal. Weighed, known charge is put to the furnace. Analysis of metal bath is
done. Final adjustment of chemical composition is achieved by additives and chemical analysis done by spectrometer

MAGNESIUM TREATMENT IN LADLE / CONVERTER

Fixed quantity of liquid metal is tapped from furnace to open ladle at about 1550 deg (± 50) C already containing
required quantity of FeSiMg lumps covered with metallic covering. Qty. of FeSiMg is governed by opening S % and
liquid metal quantity

CENTRIFUGAL CASTING MACHINE

Slag is removed before casting. Pouring temperature as per QAP.

ANNEALING FURNACE

Fertilizing anneal heat treatment.

ZINC COATING

External surface coating is done by arc paint process. Melted zinc is deposited as fog by compressed air. Coating mass
per meter square as per QAP.

FETTLING

Cleaning of socket / spigot ends from sand and other materials.

HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE TESING

Each and every pipe is hydrotested at specified pressure to ensure leak proof pipes as per QAP.

CEMENT LINING

Inside of bore is given a cement mortar lining of 3 to 5 mm thickness as per QAP.

STEAM CURING

Slow curing by steam ensures rigid lining.

BITUMEN COATING

External surface coating is done by spraying of bitumen. Coating mass per square meter as per QAP.

MARKING

By stencilling logo, size, class, year of manufacture and length.

STOCK YARD

The pipes are properly stacked in the stock yard.
