The program I have chosen, Thermal Power and Fluid Engineering, interests me more than you can

think. From my childhood I was always fascinated about airplanes and mechanical systems that
drive and maintain the flight. I grew up with nothing but airplanes on my mind at all times. I
would run to the balcony whenever I hear the sound of an airplane cruising just to keep spotting it
till it disappears. In addition, I was never bored in a tutorial or a film about airplanes. Therefore, I
find this program very convenient to me because I have many ideas related to this field and I think
I need the opportunity to develop them in order to improve my skills in this domain as well as
improve the airplane flight itself.

Regarding my academic achievements, I always scored high marks in Mathematics, Physics and
Mechanics in the secondary stage and during my four-year Bachelor. I was on top of more than
2500 students in the faculty in Mathematics 1, 2, 3, 5 and Statistical Methods during 3 years.
Moreover, During my Secondary school, I have scored A* in Mathematics and Chemistry Advanced
levels for Cambridge International Examinations with high marks that made me one of the best
students in my country Egypt. Moreover, my final year graduation project was hydraulic control
system on an airplane with a prototype that got an excellent grade 95 %. I have seized the
opportunity to work for this project to develop communication skills and build up new relations
and friends. Furthermore, I was always keen on taking courses and internships in Mechanical
Engineering field that helped me with leadership and communication skills. For example, I
participated in a course for a week in a multinational company and improved my leadership skills
because the instructor chose me to be the leader for the group. I had also the chance to work in
extra-curricular activities in the faculty. I used to tutor students with low grades to help them get
higher marks.

I am eagerly looking forward to taking this program because it will help me fulfill my future plan;
launching aviation industry in Egypt. I plan to work on two specific points in the engineering field
that will help improve the airplane industry and reduce the running cost. The first one is airplane
fuel consumption and how to minimize it. The second is drag force for the airplane during the
cruise stage and how to decrease it. Such an ambitious endeavor wouldn’t be possible anywhere
but in this program. I also aim to continue my research studies for a second MSc and a further PhD
and devote the majority of my future work in relevant research.

In accordance with all of the above, being enrolled in a one of the top ranked universities for a
master degree will help me immensely. Your university is world-renowned for its high ranked
faculty and state-of-the-art research facilities especially in my designated field. Besides, the UK-
with its cosmopolitan mix of cultures and races- proves that it is the suitable place to study.
