husband ran off with a younger woman, leaving

the stars of the book, like in the movies. Also

It is her aim to change these people lives but she
also had a dark and hidden agenda for her latest
customers.
This is a story of madness and mayhem at a
health resort. People with little in common find
themselves in circumstances where they must
form unexpected bonds. They undergo unex-

this side of deranged, the story is a compulsive
read and overlong, but otherwise compelling
and highly engrossing. Nine Perfect Strangers
is a roller coaster of a read with beautifully de-

and false bravado but who are completely relat-
able.
Once you start reading this book it will be
hard to put it down.

A Memorial Day Tribute

A Preview of Songs of War and Remembrance 2019
BY J O DY LE B E L

Mark your calendar:

Sunday, May 26th at 7:00 PM.
Seats are limited.
Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Mon-
day of May, honoring the men and women who lost their lives while
serving in the US military. Music artists have never shied away from
recording melodies that portray the stories of the wars, and in fact
they and their fans have embraced the idea of supporting our soldiers
through music.
There is a rich history of songs about our soldiers, the wars they’ve
fought and the loved ones they left behind. Of the hundreds of songs,
one would think it might be difficult to choose which ones to in-
clude in a musical tribute but director/producer Kitty Gragg, along
with co-producer John Gragg, and musical director Steve Warshawer
once again produced a powerful lineup which the Act 2 Repertory
Theater group will present. Their 3rd annual memorial show titled
Songs of War and Remembrance is sure to be an emotional and
touching performance. It is guaranteed that this year’s show will in-
spire tears, bring back memories, and also inflame the patriotic heart
in each of us.
The song selection is a tribute to all who have served our country
in the Armed Forces, in times of war or peace, for those who returned
home and those who did not. The musical show includes
the right balance and range of ballads and songs from
wars, history to present, and include tunes that are sol-
emn and heartfelt as well as light and humorous.
CSI has teamed up with the Act 2 group and will be
generously donating 175 gift bags. In addition Centu-
ry Village Primary Care Physicians has donated 100
T-shirts. Those items will be given out until the supply
is exhausted.
The Act 2 Repertory Theater group is well established
and respected in Century Village, and is comprised of
more than 40 Village senior citizens, many of whom
have musical backgrounds. Kitty, John, and Steve did a
wonderful job of presenting the pieces in this 2019 lineup
which were chosen to either make you smile or bring a
tear. With heart, a touch of whimsy, and lots of nostalgia
this collection of songs reflect wartime conflicts and re-
veal war as both terrible and necessary.

Proceeds to be donated to the Honor

Flight Program.
Between the use of visuals on the back display, the
costumes, and the hand-selected musical numbers this
performance is a hit. A $3.00 donation is appreciated
and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Honor
Flight Program. Don’t miss this year’s show. All of
your neighbors will be talking about it!
