For many individuals, one may believe that learning just involves someone who teaches
and the person that is being taught. However, many may not have effective results without
specific learning strategies that’ll help the trainee not only retain the information but master
the skills by implementing motivation, academic self-regulation, setting goals, and self-
regulation of emotions. As CEO, I strive to make our work environment as productive and
efficient as possible. I guarantee that the implementation of these four strategies will create a
superb experience for each and everyone one of our guest, patients, and employees.
First, I would like to explore the strategies of academic self-regulation. To define it, it is
the controlling factors that influence one’s learning. There are 6 components of academic self-
regulation that helps you stay on track with controlling those factors: Motivation, Methods of
learning. Use of time, physical environment, social environment, and monitoring performance.
These six components will definitely provide you with effective ways to become an outstanding
employee. One’s physical environment will dramatically affect a learner’s ability to understand
a subject. For example, if you’re learning a new method on entering patient information and
new procedures and you need to study for the test on the information you acquired, there
needs to environment that has no type of disruptions such as phones, TV, conversation (unless
its peer studying), loud areas, etc. That means you should take time to find a place such as a
library or a quiet room within the hospital, or your own home to put all of your focus on
help you keep track with your performance of your daily tasks. For example, you could compare
results of your patient-ready assessment test from the prior year to see if you’ve made any
improvements. Next is the use of time, individuals should use time management to the best of
their ability. At David’s General, we strongly believe that time is a crucial part of the learning
experience. For upcoming annual tests for nurses and physicians, studying for these test should
include a well though-out time management system that’ll more than likely guarantee you a
passing score. Methods of learning is the also known as simply learning strategies. These are
methods of techniques that individuals learn to acquire information. Residents here at the
hospital can take full advantage of this component by writing down questions for physicians
and nurses, asking questions during sit-ins and more. Furthermore, there is the component of
motivation. Motivating yourself to be a better and caring employee everyday should be a goal
within itself. Write down a list of goals that you strive to attain for the week such as how many
positive patients surveys you would like to have or if you’re feeling down about an incident that
happen that has you feeling like you’re not giving your best. Take the negative energy and turn
it into a positive by saying to yourself a motivating pep talk. And finally the last component,
social environment. This is the ability to determine if they should work alone or with others

Setting Goals is the next learning strategy that we will be implementing at David’s
General. According to Michael Howe, there are different types of goals and one in particular is
performance goals. This is a goal that has a specific level of tasks that need to be achieved
(Howe, 2019). Setting goals is very beneficial to all employees whether it’s being promoted to
property manager, lead physician, employee of the month, etc. To help with setting goals. I
would like you all to use the method known as “S.M.A.R.T. Goals”. This acronym identifies the
standard for individuals who set goals. It stands for specific, measurable, action-oriented,
realistic, and time-bound. By using specific, it means to describe that you actually want to
accomplish. Measurable describes your goal in terms that can actually be clearly evaluated.
Next, is action-oriented which identifies a goal that focuses on actions rather than an
individual’s personal qualities. There is also realistic in which identifies a goal you know are
actually capable of achieving. And finally, there is timely. This identifies a goal that breaks a
longer-term goal into a short-term goal or goals and clearly specifies a date when the goal is
complete.
within yourself is a vital step in achieving your goals. Self-worth is a main component of
motivation because it’s the need for an individual to maintain a positive image of themselves
and their ability. Everyone at David General should have a great sense of self-worth and tell
yourself that you have the ability to be the best. Individuals who learn this know that society

values people because of their contributions and accomplishments to society and the world.
There is also the component of self-efficacy. This refers to the ability to successfully complete a
specific task. Individuals know that completing a task successfully is a great feeling and helps
you become a more successful learner. As you work on this component, think about how you
strive to be better at a task than you did before to evaluate your goals and how you can keep
your emotions in a professional manner. Everyday David General Hospital sees patients that
deal with a number of things such as cancer, HIV, death, pregnancies, etc., and it is important to
make sure that the patient knows that there is someone who isn’t scared with them but is
there for them as a strong hold and someone they can depend on. There are eight components
mind reading, catastrophizing, magnifying, personalization, and should. I will send a detailed
brochure out to every employee so you all can get in-depth look at these eight components. In
close I would like to say thank you for all that you do here and I hope that these new
implementations will help you become the best person and employee that you can be here and
