Caleb Abbe: Personal Statement

Growing up, I have always taken interest in business, as a child seeing small businesses grow
into large or successful businesses always intrigued me. As I grew older my interests turned into
me looking into my dad’s profession; real estate. My father has always been the man I looked up
to. His success in the real estate realm is what inspires me most. He typically sells his houses in a
neighborhood known as The Oaks. I have attended on numerous occasions in which I have
shadowed him. His work ethic and social skills have inspired me to work up to his level of
degree. Real estate has so many advantages that benefit who I am as a person. I will potentially
be my own boss and have a flexible schedule. Being able to make clients happy when purchasing
a home is my all-time goal.

Currently, I am a student at State College of Florida: Manatee-Sarasota, pursuing an Associates

in Arts degree. I look forward to completing my necessary core classes in order to receive my
AA in order to progress. As of now I am enrolled in Written Communication and
Macroeconomics. These two courses will help me perform better in the long run of my career.
Outside of my courses at the college I work with my father to better understand real estate. He
does all of his computer work at home; therefore, I am able to ask him questions and educate
myself even more.

I plan to continue to build my knowledge and acquire experiences to become a real estate agent. I
plan to take further studies in Business when I transfer to the University of South Florida in
Tampa. While completing my bachelor’s degree, I would like to participate in an internship in
which I can become more comfortable within the field as well as earn my father’s clients. I hope
to be my father’s partner, where I can follow his footsteps and eventually gain his clients and
more. Success and making people happy is very important to me and I anticipate in reaching it.
