The article provides a strong argument for reducing or at least providing needed
educational resources within inner city communities opposing fast food as being a main source
of nutrition in diets. Various works cited in the article support this contention and provide a
framework toward changing the current culture of nutrition. Tobacco usage has been reduced
over the years because of its inherent health risks to those who smoke. However comforting
smoking has become in us culture, fast food consumption has taken its place as the number-one
cause of health issues and concerns. Government and the fast-food industry need to be more
forthcoming and advise the consumers that there are negative dietary consequences and
implications to consuming such nutrients on a regular basis. Tobacco usage has been demonized

Recent data and studies have now shown that foods saturated with fat and sugar, have been
shown to increase the risk of cardio vascular disease and metabolic syndrome. The awareness of
such medical concerns has provided a solid argument against structural oppression that affect
those that do not have the ability to choose healthier foods, free of large amounts of sugar and
fat.
