This document outlines the procedure for Experiment 1 on biostatistics conducted by the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Santo Tomas. The experiment involves measuring various health metrics for each student such as weight, height, blood pressure, and waist circumference. It then describes calculating summary statistics for the class overall and by gender, as well as analyzing relationships between measurements and comparing differences between instruments and arms used.

Procedure: 1. Measure the following data per student:
A. Weight (kg) B. Height (cm) C. Systolic blood pressure (mm Hg) a. Digital Sphygmomanometer Right & Left arm (no round off) b. Aneroid Sphygmomanometer Right & Left arm D. Diastolic blood pressure (mm Hg) a. Digital Sphygmomanometer Right & Left arm (no round off) b. Aneroid Sphygmomanometer Right & Left arm E. Waist circumference (cm) F. Body Mass Index (kg/m2) 2. Record data and get the following: A. As a class a. Mean b. Standard deviation c. Coefficient of variance B. Males (same with above) C. Females (same with above) 3. Tabulate data and interpret. 4. Construct a distribution curve of the following data: A. height B. weight C. waist circumference 5. What is the relationship of the following? A. height and weight B. weight and body mass index C. weight and waist circumference D. weight and systolic blood pressure E. weight and diastolic blood pressure F. height and waist circumference 6. Is there a difference in SBP & DBP using aneroid & digital sphygmomanometer? 7. Is there a difference in SBP&DBP using right & left arm of digital sphygmomanometer? 8. Are the males taller than the females? 9. Are the females heavier than the males? 10. Is there a difference in the waist circumference of the males and the females?
