I am Austin Tapley I am attending Northwest High School.

I live with my parents and

have two sisters. Both of them are younger than me with one being in 9th grade and one being in

6th. I am ​hardworking, motivated and organized​. I started the Northwest bass fishing team

and took ​5th in states last year​.

I am a very hard working student I like to get my assignments done and not wait to finish

them. I have a 3.64 gpa and have taken a lot of advanced classes and some college classes. My

favorite class in high school was physics. I’m good at math so that was never a problem and I

liked learning about what was happening to the objects and how they worked. It showed me what

forces were acting on us and we don’t even realize it. I need to work on my english and writing

skills in school. College will be a lot of papers and writing and I never liked doing it in school.

Outside of school I usually keep myself pretty busy. I wrestled my whole life and I was

captain of the team my junior and senior year. So during season I’d have practice everyday and

in the off season I would lift a lot so I could get stronger for the next season which always payed

off for me. Outside of school sports I did bass fishing tournaments in the summer. I was pretty

good at always placing high in a lot of the tournaments so I spend a lot of my summer on the

water trying to get better. All summer I would either be fishing, lifting or hanging out with

friends.

After high school I plan to go to Adrian College to get a business degree and continue my

competitive bass fishing career. This is going to be a new experience for me because Adrian is

one of the best in the country at bass fishing. I am very use to being one of the best fishermen

where I come from and I know when I get to Adrian starting out I’ll just be another guy on the

team because everyone there is extremely good. I am looking forward to this because I can learn
from other people instead of trying to teach myself. I also want to go into business management

so I can see how to run a business. Eventually the final goal for me would be to own my own

business.

This will be useful for me in the future because I don’t usually talk about myself and

what I’ve done unless people ask. This will be good to show a employer because they can see

what I’ve done quickly without me having to tell my life story. This could potentially help me

get a job in the future because they can see the type of person I am.
