employees to the next level. Engaged employees concentrate on the goals of your
organization and on the results that you as an organization expect from them. They
have the feeling that they really can contribute to the success of your organization
and that all their abilities are being utilized. Objectives 1. To know about employee
engagement and its importance in an organization 2. To know about the methods to
improve employee engagement 3. To know about the role of training to improve
employee engagement
Problem Statement (including Employee engagement became a very popular concept during the past two decades.
Literature Review) Organizations try to gure out if their employees are engaged and how to make them
engaged by using di erent surveys and tools to stay competitive and improve
performance. Many organizations were focusing on designing a successful reward
system to keep employees engaged and productive. But most are missing a key trick
because the line manager which is a critical audience is often overlooked. Managers
who ultimately serve as the face of an organization to its employees are typically the
ones who work or fail the engagement tools. Tangible rewards or intangible
incentives such as job design, career development are all heavily in uenced by
management behaviors which have an enormous e ect on employee engagement.
Research undertaken indicated that Positive perceptions of line management are
signi cantly related to employee engagement. Speci cally, in order to foster
employee engagement, it is important for line managers to ensure that: the right
people are in the right jobs; goals and objectives are clearly communicated; e ort is
appropriately rewarded, opportunities for development and promotion are provided.
