Assignment Title: Mid-Unit Macbeth’s Downfall

Student Writing Goal: Get an A on my essay.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this essay to pin point who’s is responsible for going off the rails. It shows how much we paid
attention to the story. It portrays the theme of the story and who is at fault for all the deaths. It helps us get a
better understanding of the story and prepare us for our end of unit.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I did terrible. This is my first essay I don’t get 90 on. I forgot a lot of sentences like my thesis and my
conclusion. I have no idea how that just slipped my mind if it is one of the most important things in an essay.
I also did the citations all wrong and I even forgot a citation page.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think I did well with my quotes. I think my quotes support my claims pretty good even though I cited them
wrong. I still believe the quotes I chose stand strong towards my claim. I struggled looking for my quotes
because they have different English which is kind of hard to understand. I quote one of Lady Macbeth’s
quotes. yet do i fear that thy nature, It is too full o' th' milk of human kindness. ...

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I have revised it. There was a lot of mistakes, I still believe Ms. Figueroa is too in love with commas but I
definitely have to do something. I already fixed all my commas, all the citations, the works cited that I never
did and added some sentences that I was missing.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
I will actually read the story this time. Also, I will use better transition words on my essay, so it makes better
sense. That is another of my mistakes, I don’t use transition words which kind of makes my essay sound
ridiculous.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?I wanted to get over a 90 this time
but instead I went the opposite way and got something lower. I don’t think I succeeded at all even athough
my score was not bad I just don’t think that score is for me.
