My Future Self
“If you look for the bad, you will find it. If you look for the good, you will find that too. Our
experience of humanity and life itself is truly up to you.” I heard this quote from Ariana Grande
and I have lived by this since then. Today, we focus so much on being accepted and fitting in
that we completely change and forget who we really are. Positive words and actions are so rare
now that they mean so much more. I want to have an impact on letting everyone know that they
should feel comfortable and exclusive in their own skin.
Ten years from now I want to visit countries with high poverty such as Brazil, Africa, and
Liberia. I want to help give them a better education and open up their opportunities for a well
fulfilled future. I don’t want them to feel limited to what they can achieve because of the country
they were born in. I also want to volunteer at homeless shelters and animal shelters because I
believe that everyone deserves to know that someone cares about them.
Equality is a big thing for me no matter your color, religion, gender, sexuality or beliefs. I want
to live in a society where same sex marriage is just marriage, no one’s rights decrease because of
their skin color, and no one is judged based off of religion. Not everyone has to agree with each
other, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Before my grandma passed away in 2012, we spent our time together watching Bones and horror
movies. This would eventuate into my interests of crime scenes and investigations. I grew up in a
family of Lawyers, Doctors, and Firefighters. My mom and dad work at Banner Estrella so I
have a lot of knowledge about hospitals, patient care, and procedures and when I am older I
would like to be a forensic analyst.
I want to attend Arizona State University and then move to Santa Monica after graduating. A
forensic analyst is someone who examines and analyzes evidence such as dead bodies, murder
weapons, and DNA samples. “In whatever you do, be the most caring and positive thought
leader. If your art isn’t real and your heart isn’t in your work, you won’t be motivated or excited
and you will burn out your soul. At the base of everything you do, you need to have heart. If
people can tell that you care, you will be followed.”
