MODIFICATION OF MULTIPLE NON-STEM LESSONS


Teachers will modify multiple non-STEM lessons they have taught in the classroom to make
them into high quality STEM Lessons.

CREATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AT LEAST 3 STEM LEARNING EXPERIENCES


Teachers will use their knowledge and experience to collaboratively create at least 3 STEM
Learning Experiences to be implemented with their students during the school year.
Experiences will be vetted by School STEM Connector and PLCs using STEM Learning Experience
Vetting tool.

CREATION OF STEM EXPERIENCE PRESENTATIONS


Teachers will collect data during their experience including test scores, notes, pictures and
video etc. to create a presentation of their STEM experience for the staff for the next school
year.
Stage 3 – Learning Plan
Summary of Key Learning Events and Instruction
YEAR 1:

1. STEM Connector presents County Level STEM education pitch to teachers during August school wide welcome back, including
introduction of new school level STEM kits that can be signed out from the media center. STEM Connector will pitch participation in
county level PD provided during after school workshops at their schools during the 2018-2019 school year.
2. Teachers/Paraprofessionals on the Math Committee take on the role of school-level STEM members and attend county level STEM PD.
Staff meeting in September focusing on STEM will be presented/shared with staff.
3. One math meeting will be used to dive into STEM Standards of practice to identify their use in their current lessons. School STEM
Connector meets with the PLC during this time to offer coaching/feedback.
4. STEM/Math members determine data collection procedures to evaluate effectiveness of STEM Learning Experiences.
5. STEM/Math PLC members implement created STEM Learning Experiences in the classroom.
6. At the end of the year STEM/Math meets to plan for implementation of Year 2.
7. STEM/Math analyzes data collected on student progress and shares information with administration and staff where appropriate.

Year 2:

1. STEM Connector and select members of Math/STEM pitches STEM education for all students to teachers during August school wide
welcome back. STEM Connector will pitch participation in county level PD provided during after school workshops at their schools during
the 2020-2021 school year.
2. STEM Connector continues to support new Math/STEM initiatives and checks in throughout the year.

Year 3:

1. Continue the plan from year 2.


2. STEM Connector continues to support periodically throughout the year.
