Assignment Title: Q2 End of Unit Chaucer

Student Writing Goal: My goal is to score at least an 80 or above with minimal grammar errors with supportive
evidence.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to understand Chaucer’s writing and how we interpret the
reading. In my case the story was defining true love. The overall theme was beauty that lies within. This
theme is also a motto you can relate to life and society.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I performed well in relations to the expectations of the writing rubric. I stayed on topic providing strong and
correctly cited quotes. The grammar errors were minimum like I expected which I can work on next time I
have an assignment.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I enjoyed the reading so overall, I think I did well on finding evidence that supported the theme that beauty lies
within. Stating in my essay, “It was a wonderful meaning that’s related to real life which made me contribute more in
the essay with my thoughts and ideas. Beauty that lies within is what makes someone fall in love, excepting who they
are; flaws and all, brings out the persons true colors. Bringing out those true colors makes that individual beautiful on
the outside as well as inside.”, really gave the reader a good idea of what type of story this was and maybe take what I
wrote relating it on a personal level. Therefore, leaves the reader interested for what is going to happen next.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I’ve now chosen to revise this essay to learn from my mistakes. Revising work, you’ve done makes you more
knowledgeable to more mistakes in the future. It’s better to revise ad take care of the issue right then and
there than turning it in without revising and getting a bad grade.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
My next writing assignment I will try and focus on the theme like I did with this assignment and maybe I’d
like the story just as much, therefore that’s what makes me produce a well thought out essay. If it is a story, I
don’t like I can try and focus on the grade I need and make it a goal to make a very intellectual essay.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I scored above what I planned scoring. I planned on scoring an 80 but instead received a 90. I’m close to
receiving maybe a 95 or 100 but in order to do this I need to turn in my assignments on time. I need to set the
goal of turning the assignment in when its due because I have a habit of doing the assignment then not turning
it until last minute. I don’t know exactly why but that’s something I need to work on. Sometimes I feel like I
don’t turn it in on time because I’m nervous the essay won’t be that great.
