Universal Design for Learning (UDL): To address Universal Design for Learning principles, if
there are any words spoken in the Kahoot, they will be transcribed for students who may have
hearing impairments. Additionally, If there are words in the Kahoot that are displayed but not
spoken, there needs to be an auditory recording so that students who may have visual
impairment may listen. In creating the Kahoot, they may have the assistance of a
paraprofessional as needed.

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will
introduce the SRT activity.
This kahoot will be used as an introduction to the lesson unit. I will use this as a way to show
students way this lesson is relevant for them to learn.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge X Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) X To illuminate

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: Students will use their own
device to answer question that are projected on the board. Only the students and the teacher
will be able to see if they got the answer correct or not

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

X Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select X True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response ☐ Other:

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10
questions required):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

X Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the
questions and display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
X Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
It is important for them to see the correct answers and understand why they are correct

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? Students will have a conversation in small
groups to discuss how relevant these facts are to their everyday life

How will the data be used? This will help me as a teacher understand where students are in their
current stage of learning and see if they are surprised by the percentages of students their age
using tobacco. I think students will find it very beneficial because they will see that these things
happen to other students too if they are being pressured
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. The goal for this activity is to show
students that these things are happening even if they don’t realize it. It can show students how
privileged they are if they are not experiencing these things at home or at school.
Reflective Practice: I think that this kahoot will be eye opening for the students and will make
them excited to learn more statistics after seeing how this could have easily affected them too. In
order to make this lesson longer or extended further it might be better to make the statistics
specific to the school rather than the nation.
